The following day, Amy came home with me from school. I was gonna tell her about Brandon because I saw him in class today, but I decided not to. Instead we got some ice cream and talked.
"Graduation is in just a few weeks! Can you believe it?" Amy was so excited as she spoke. I was happy for her, but it just reminded me that I had one more year after she graduates. What'll I do without her?
"Yeah. I don't want you to go." I murmured.
"Oh, stop it. I won't be far. We'll have all summer and then I'm off to university! You'll visit, right?" Amy said. I nodded.
"Of course!" I said excitedly and then my smile quickly became a deep frown. Amy tilted her head and gazed at me.
"What's wrong?" She asked. I wouldn't say. I just kept thinking about that stupid boy. Amy's gonna leave me here with him and I'll have no one to run to. But maybe that's a good thing. Right? Of course not! Amy snapped her fingers at me.
"Hey. What's up with you lately?" She said. I shook my head.
"I don't know." I murmured.
"I'll still want you...even after I leave." Amy smirked. I looked at her and immediately became distressed. But what if I don't still want her. I know how she feels about me and how I feel about her, but I can't help but think about-
"Hey, you?" Amy waved her hands frantically in front of my face. I blinked a few times and looked at her.
"Yeah?" I responded. Amy chuckled.
"What's gotten into you, Joey?" She asked me as she spooned her last scoop of ice cream and waved for a nearby waiter.
"I'm feeling a little sick." I lied to her again. I hate lying to her, but then again, maybe I am sick, sick of thinking about him.
"Amy?" I questioned. She turned her attention away from the short, dark skinned man who picked up her ice cream bowl and place it on his tray.
"Yes?"
I wondered if I should even ask her this question, but I went for it anyway.
"Have you ever been with a guy?" I asked her quietly. She moved closer.
"What was that?" She said. I shied away and shook my head.
"Never mind." I told her and Amy rolled her eyes back.
"No, tell me. I'm listening, Joey." She said and I cleared my throat.
"Have you ever been with a guy?" I repeated myself. Amy leaned back in her chair, looking shocked. She bit the inside of her cheek and shook her head.
"No, Joey. I haven't and I never will. Don't ask such silly questions, Hon." Her shock quickly became a pleasant smile, then a look of worry.
"Have you?" She questioned me. I shook my head without hesitation.
"No." I responded.
"Do you want to be?" She asked me. The words that came from her mouth made me sick to my stomach. She twisted her face and gazed at me as I sat there not saying a word. Amy cringed and slammed an open palm onto the table.
"Well, do you?" She asked again. At this point she was mad. Her pale skin tinted red and I shook my head vigorously.
"Never." I told her as I thought about him in the back of my head.
"Just let me show you." I whispered and Amy smiled at me as she calmed down and took a sip of water.
"Come home with me and I'll show you. No one will ever replace you." I told her and she was all giggles and red, blushing cheeks.
"Okay." She grinned and I sighed.

Back at my hououse Mom was cooking dinner and Amy and I went upstairs to my room.
"We'll be down for dinner!" I yelled to Mom as I ran upstairs with Amy trailing behind me.
"Okay." Mom responded and continued stirring the pasta on the stove. We got upstairs and head to my room down the hall. Amy skipped and giggled. As soon as I shut the door, Amy pounced on me, pushing me down flat onto the bed. She started undressing and I kissed her from head to toe leaving little little red marks down her body which she loves so much. All of the sudden I heard footsteps. Shit. It was Mom.
"Amy, did you hear that." I managed to push out in the middle of a moan.
"Hear what?" She stopped kissing my neck.
"Don't be so paranoid, Josephine." She moaned and started kissing me again. Then, in an instant, Mom opened the door. My heart dropped. There I was lying naked on top of her covered in her lipstick, and sweet little bruises all down her body. Mom screamed. She ran into the room and grabbed me by my wrist as she yanked me off her. Amy grunted and covered herself with the sheets.
"What the hell are you doing?!?!" Mom screeched as she shoved me into a wall. Amy opened her mouth to speak and then closed it. Mom glowered at her and tears began streaming down her red face.
"Get out! Get out of my house, slut!" She yelled at Amy who started crying as she gathered her things and ran out of the door. I was screaming and crying and Mom slapped me in my face.
"Shut up! I didn't raise my daughter to be a whore!" She swung to hit me again and I ducked, falling onto the floor.
"Get up, slut! And get out of my house!" Mom yelled so loud and she was crying so hard she could barely keep her eyes open.
"Mom please!" I shouted pulling at my hair. She pushed me down to the ground as soon as I got up.
"No! You're not welcome here! I didn't raise a slut, I didn't raise a slut!" She yelled and grabbed me from my wrists before pushing me out of the door. I stumbled and fell through the door and Mom sat onto the bed and dropped her head into her hands as she sobbed. I stood up and looked at her.
"Mom?" I whispered. She looked up at me with red eyes and shook her head.
"Get out, Josephine. I need to think. Get out of this house. I don't want to see you!" She whined and looked back down into her lap.
"Get out already." Mom said once more and I left the house at that moment, wrapped in a sheet with tears covering my puffy, red face. Where am I supposed to go? What am I supposed to do?
