AUGUST'S POV
I laid in bed listenin' ta someone bang on the do'. I clutched my phone to my chest takin' deep breaths. I was just havin' a nightmare. It was horrible. I-I was standin ova Sya with a gun an she was beggin' fo' her life.
I shot ha.
Me.
I did it.
I took a shaky breath and let tears fall to the side of ma face.
The bangin got louder then I heard a voice.
"AUGUST OPEN THIS DAMN DOOR FO' I BREAK IT DOWN." It was Chris ugly ass.
I wiped my eyes and peeled the covers from myself. I put my phone in my pocket and walked to the balcony doors, and pushed them open.
"August man- Moses?!" He stepped back and looked up at me.
I rolled my eyes, he was referrin ta ma beard.
I fanned him off.
"It's good to see ya man!" I nodded my head and leaned over the Glass takin in the air. Ion Neva really come outside, hell it's been 6 months since I last came out.
"You know Dice and Vanessa's wedding is in 5 days right?" He hovered his hand over his face as the sun glared over the trees.
I nodded and scratched my chin.
"Still not speakin' huh?" I stayed silent. I just have nothin ta say.
"Okay then..." He scratched his head and swingin his arms, catchin his first when they came to the front. "Let me in man, I'll help you pack for the flight. Ain't no weddin without your bad dancin". I took a breath and swiped my hands down my.
I turned around and made my way down stairs. I wanted through the living room makin my way ta the do'. I took another breath, puttin my hand on the nob. I opened it up all the way to see Chris and the boys standin there. I put my brows together and grew confused.
"I knew you wouldn't let us in if you saw more than just me." I pursed my lips together and widened the do'.
"It's nice in here." I heard James say. They've never been here. When I say I haven't left here for two years, and they just leave food and stuff at the door every week. I'm serious.
I sat on the couch and grabbed the blunt from behind my ear.
They all sat around the room lookin at me.
"August man. What happened?" Jean asked with concern all over their face, they all did.
I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. A tear slid down my face. I quickly wiped it and looked down at the flo'.
"We here fo ya dawg. Talk to us." Dice said walkin towards me. He sat on the coffee table in front of me.
I shook my head, ta keep from cryin.
"August man you-"
"I-im sorry." I broke down.
They all ran over and hugged me.
"It's okay man."
After a while I shook myself together. I wiped my hands down my face and nodded.
"I... I just feel like it's my fault. I was supposed t-to protect her and I failed man. I failed!" I slammed my first on the arm of the chair.
"You can't keep blamin yourself, she pushed you out of the way. You spent all that time protecting her, fighting for her. So this one time she was protecting you." Kevin said patting my back.
"She wouldn't want you to keep crying Aug." Marco said.
I nodded.
"So stop crying we got a surprise for you." I looked at them weird and the for opened. The girls walked in I instantly perked up.
Z ran over, squeezin the shit outta me. Bianca pushed her oy the way and smacked fire outta me.
"Ouch!"
"That's for missing out on shit. Now here's the real surprise."
She moved out the way and TC walked over with something in her arms.
"August this is Michelle." Sya's middle name. I looked at her with tears in my eyes.
I held my arms out and she laid the most amazing thing in my arms.
"She's beautiful."
"Thank you." Her and chris said at the same time, givin' each other a look. They had a baby 8 months ago. I was so deep in my depression I wasn't there for the birth. Lookin' at ha' now makes me regret everythin'.
She opened her eyes and looked at me. "Heyyy pretty." She smiled at me and then made a face. She tilted her head back and sneezed on my chest. They all busted out laughin' makin' me laugh.
"I knew this was to good to be true." I handed Michelle back to TC.
"Good job." She said wiping her nose.
"And there's one more." I looked at Jacob confused and heard the door open.
"Well if I knew there was a party I would've brought chips."
I stood up and rushed towards Avery.
He hugged me tight and patted my back.
"Good to see you ol chap." I nodded and wiped my tears. "Good to see you too" I knew me and him have a lot to talk about, but we'll leave that hard conversion for lata'.
"Enough of this sad shit. Let's get you cleaned up and packed, we gotta flight to catch in 7 hours." Chris said all extra loud.
Everybody went in different directions. The girls headed towards the kitchen I guess to cook. While shad and dice dragged me upstairs to my bathroom.
"Okay now to take off that struggle beard." Shad unrolled a case with a shavin' kit inside.
"Ooohhh noooo. Ion want you anywhere near my throat."
"Ohhhh hush and let him fix you" Chris said pullin a chair from God knows where.
This is goin to be a long night.
