Mark's pov

I am rocking our son to sleep after feeding him some formula, he is eating good as far as I know. I was never able to find a nurse. We are just winging this, he is only a week old.

"Stop that." Tyler said as he walked into the bedroom.

"I failed both of them." I said low looking up at Tyler.

"No, you are taking care of both of them. Amy is resting as you are feeding and changing him. I don't think he has left your arms that much."

I looked back down at our son, he smiled up at me as our eyes met.

"He will need more time to grow but he is doing good on his own. The make-shift oxygen tube is working for him and he is taking food like a champ." Tyler said.

"I know, I just wish that I was able to find a nurse. That is why I left."

"Dude, all of the nurses are hiding or being forced to work in a hell hole. There was no way you were ever going to find one."

"There was a small chance that I would have been able to find someone."

"A small chance. Stop beating yourself up."

I shook my head at him.

"Just relax." He said then walked away.

"How am I to relax when I wasn't here when Amy needed me the most?" I asked.

"You are here now." Amy said weakly from the bed.

"Hey honey." I said low as I walked over to her.

"How is he eating?" She tried to sit up but she is still in too much pain.

"He is eating really good, he latched onto the bottle and he eats all of the 8oz each time."

"Sit next to me." She smiled at me.

Once I was seated next to her I kissed the top of her head.

"I love you so much." I said.

"I love you too, how are you?"

"I am okay, he is finally sleeping." I looked down at my arms where our son was sleeping.

"We still don't have a name for him."

"I know, we haven't really gotten a chance to talk about one."

"I don't even know where to start."

"Well, I do know that you need to eat."

"I don't want anything."

"You need to eat."

She closed her eyes.

"I know honey." I said low, "You are in so much pain. But you need to eat. You need to keep your strength."

"I don't have much strength left."

"That is because you are not eating."

"Here." Sean walked in with a bag. "I rushed down to that hidden hospital, I got a nurse coming later tonight. She is breaking out for a week to make sure Amy and the baby are healthy. She gave me some stuff that will help Amy until she can get here."

Sean opened the bag pulling out some IV bags, vitamin bags, and some pain meds.

"Here, hold him as I help Sean get you taken care of." I said handing our son to Amy.

She held him so carefully, like she was scared that she was going to drop him.

I got up and helped Sean put the IV together, we got the pole up and put the needle together as well.
