The dark is suffocating as always. But I've gotten used to the emptiness and loneliness. After all i has to be used to it if I'm going to stay there forever.
I stretch and lie down, ready to sleep as i like to do, it's not that i have to..I'm just bored.
My eyes slowly close, replacing the black void with another void.
Something smacks me in the face. I sits up quickly, there shouldn't be anything in the Void to hit me with.
I look around and see it immediately, a thick brightly-coloured book had hit me in the head. I look up and thank whoever threw it for the treasure. I pick up the book and start to read.
On the front in big white letters it says,
'Maths'
This is enough for me and i start to read it. It may not be the most interesting book to fall on my head, but at least it's something. I read and read and once it's done, I read it again! It's very interesting to me. But when I'm halfway though reading it for the 17th time the book vanishes from my hands.
I look around for the book, stumbling through the Void. Looking for the colourful cover. But there's nothing there. I sit and stare into the empty black Void again.
I fall asleep, then wake then after a while, I sleep again. Something flutters down onto my lap. It's a brightly coloured piece of... material? It's quiet stretchy but not that much. It has writing on it...
'Kit-Kat'? It reads.
This new information fills me with joy. The world outside must be so different. When I was there, there were large animals and a lot of rocks. There definitely weren't any, 'Maths' or 'Kit-Kat'!
I start to run around with my 'Kit-Kat' in my hands. I hear something as I run. I turn and sees that more of the 'Kit-Kats' were pouring in out of nowhere. There was a small pile on the Void floor.
I dive at the colourful pieces of material. Brightly coloured and rustling as I squish them. They also have a strange smell. I spend a while going through every one of them. I learn that they aren't all called 'Kit-Kat' some are called other things. I'm the happiest I have ever been with my colourful, 'Kit-Kat's, 'Mars Bar's, 'Galaxy's!
I can twist them into shapes and play with them!
I pick up 5 'Kit-Kats' that I have moulded into the shape of a Mammoth. I'm pretending that there was a large mammoth running around the Void with me, but when I turn back to the pile there is a large.. thing. It's made of Tree and looks shiny, I want to touch it. There are black and white things on it. I reach out and touch it. It moves with my touch and makes a loud sound. I jump backwards in shock. After a long time in the soundless Void where there is nobody to talk to, my ears are very sensitive.
But after that surprise playing I start to mess about on the piano, my ears getting used to the loudness. I'm so happy with my new objects. I spend a lot of time with my objects. I have found a liking to twisting and changing the colourful paper into animals and objects, it fills me with joy. I sleep on the piano, surrounded by my paper animals. But I'm alone, that is until I met him.
I'm playing the piano, trying to copy a tune that i had heard from a small box that had been in the void for a while before vanishing. A man appears in the Void behind me.
His eyes are closed and he is limp and tied up in some sort of furry creature. I poke him and the creature for a bit until it becomes obvious that he isn't waking up soon, maybe he's dead. I sit down on the piano and play with my paper animals for a while, playing the piano with my feet. I settle down down and sleep, interested in the man.
"Who are you! Where am i!" She wakes and almost falls off the piano. She takes a breath and tries to speak, her voice is a bit croaky but she says,
"Hello Man! Your in the Void! You've got a hairy creature on you! Is it a snake? Is it dead? Do you want to play with my paper animals?"
Her eyes are bright and her tone happy as she asks him the questions.
"My name isn't Man, it's Stain and this is a rope not a snake and it's not alive. Don't you know anything?"
The girl smiles at him and shook her head.
"Nope! My name is Harriot! So Stain, do you wanna play with my paper animals?"
Harriot asks Stain as he cuts through the rope with some concealed knives. He looks up at her and around, noticing the lack of... anything and decides that playing with the girl could be his best shot.
"Sure kid."
Harriot brings Stain up onto her piano and shows him her array of wrapper animals. He almost laughs at this before realising how sad this was. This girl lived in a Void with nothing except for a piano and a pile of wrappers.
