* Hearts beats fast,

colours and promises,

how to be brave ?

how can I love when I'm... afraid to fall,

watching you stand alone,

all of my doubts suddenly goes away somehow,

one step closer !

I have died everyday waiting for you,

darling don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years.

Loved you for a thousand more...*

The song played again and again, flowing like blood through a vein, it ran through the thin cord of the earpiece she had placed in her ear, this had been one of her favorite songs, after hearing it on the twilight saga, she had gone searching for it, and was more than excited when she finally found it, had played it over and over until every single word of each line, of every verse stuck to her brain like glue, the lyrics didn't make much meaning then, the tunes had been the major reason behind the download, but that was all a different story now, every thing had changed, and there wasn't anything she could do about it, like the song said, she died everyday waiting for her parent's, hoping a miracle would happen, that they'd wake up, God could do that, nothing was too difficult for him, if he wanted it to happen, they were all Christians, her parents had devoted their lives to church work, right until the day they died, they were such good servants, why did he let this happen ? why did he let them die ? she thought, as she laid still under the duvet, stripped with pink fittings, she snuggled under it, her tears like an endless dew falling and soaking the pillow where she laid her head, her eyes stared at the transparent window, through the field, she saw the swing, as the breeze pushed against it, making it move forward and backward, then a memory flashed before her eyes,

" Do you want to play on the swing dear ? " a middle aged man asked the little girl standing beside him .

" I'm scared, what if I fall ? " the little girl questioned, not very keen on playing with the swing.

" Oh baby , angel, I'm here aren't I " the man said scopping her up as she held his shoulders, " daddy's never going to let you fall " he assured her with a warm smile.

" Promise ? " she asked, still a bit scared.

" I promise" he replied, and kissed her forehead, " are you ready " he asked, his voice a little short of a whisper.

" Uhh uhh, " she responded, nodding her head slowly.

" Good girl, that's a good girl " he responded, kissing her cheek, and then gently dropped her on the swing she held on tight as her father gently pushed it forward and back, it wasn't news that as a child, she had never liked the swing, like most children of her age, she was scared of falling off, it had taken a while, a lot of candy and her father's assuring words to overcome that fear.

The fear in her eyes as he pushed her on the swing intensified, she held on with all her might, all the while keeping her eyes shut, but he never stopped reassuring her with his encouraging words ...

" Just hold on honey, just hold on tight, daddy's never going to let anything happen to you, I promise "

He said it so many times that she ended up saying it as well.

" Just hold on, " she would tell herself, " just hold on" her eyes still closed, she tried to open them again, but seeing the grass she immediately sealed them shut, yet her father's words never faltered.

He always knew the perfect time to say it, and slowly, but surely, as she felt the cool breeze brushing against her face and carrying his words closer to her ears.

She started to open her eyes, trusting he wouldn't let her fall, she was right, he didn't, he never did, the memory had a happy ending, she eventually opened her eyes, and when she finally came down he was there to take her up in his arms,

Giggling hysterically as she rushed to embrace him, who in turn scooped her up in his arms.

" Daddy daddy, did you see that? I did it, I was on the swing " she continued, excited, she threw her tiny arms around his neck as he held her close, and spun her around.

" That's a good girl, now who's a brave girl ? " he asked, pushing his face closer to hers that their noses touched.

" I am " she replied, confidence flushed her voice, as her beautiful white eyes gleamed with excitement, but she suddenly gasped and her smile widened even more, looking over her father's shoulder as a figure neared them.

" How's my favorite daughter doing ? " the figure approaching them questioned, a middle aged woman, with black long hair that bounced off her shoulder shot a brilliant smile at her, and without hesitation she tried to get down from her father's arms, he had already heard his wife's voice and dropped the little girl gently, as he watched her rush to the woman, her mother .

" Mom..mom !, i did it , i was on the swing and i didn't fall " she screamed excited as she rushed into the open arms of the woman who hugged her against her chest, and dropped a soft kiss on her forehead afterwards.

" Mom did you see ? " the little girl questioned again

" I did, you are my brave princess aren't you, " the woman responded, doing what the man had done when he kissed his nose against that of the little girl, right before she tickled her making her giggle uncontrollably as she tried to wriggle out of her mother grip.

" Mom, let's do it together, dad will push the swing and I can sit on your lap " the little girl suggested innocently "

" Okay" the woman agreed, shooting her a warm smile, and dropped the little girl on the neatly mowed lawn.

" Come " the little girl said, as she pulled her mom's finger and lead her to the swing.

" Now you girls just hold on tight, it's going to be a bumpy ride " the man warned playfully as he pushed the swing, followed by radiant smiles and echoes of laughter, everything was perfect.

But slowly the laughter died down, and the images vanished, it was a happy memory, but that was all it was, and all it would ever be, a memory.

They were one of the many she had of them now, they were all she had of both her parents, the accident had made sure of that.

The happy daughter, mother and father would never be together again, not until they meet again in the after life at least, the warm picture faded before her eyes.

Leaving only the empty swing that moved back and forth on the backyard grass, the damp breeze blowing against it, and the dust that trailed behind it, it was real, they were gone.
