"Are your ears clogged, or are you just selectively deaf? Did I not make myself crystal clear when I asked for a cream pastry? Perhaps I should lend you a hand in unclogging those stubborn ears of yours," Teddy Jin sneered, his face twisted into a sour expression as he swatted his shuttle with a strawberry pastry sack.
Nearby, Phillip smirked, his thumbs dancing across the screen of his phone in a frenzy of activity.
Teddy, always so malleable, like a submissive lapdog. It would be foolish to stick around when I hold all the cards. I should seize this opportunity to shut out Gray and Ben once and for all.
Phillip's gaze lingered on Teddy's swollen face, a curious mix of concern and calculation brewing within him. What had transpired that he remained oblivious to?
"Hey, pass the ball this way! Over here!"
Glancing out of the window, Phillip spotted Ben Park on the sports field, surrounded by a group of his friends, reveling in their camaraderie. With an impressive display of athleticism, Ben leaped into the air, meeting the ball with his chest. "TERRIFIC PASS!" he exclaimed, his voice brimming with enthusiasm.
There was no time to waste. Phillip knew he had to strike, to dismantle Gray and Ben while the opportunity presented itself.
Ben Park, enjoy your fleeting moments of joy while they last.
With a chuckle, Phillip hit the send button, relishing the completion of the paragraph he had just written. It was a sinister declaration, a calculated move in his grand scheme of manipulation and control. He reveled in the power he held, confident that his actions would yield the desired results.
Little did he know the tangled web he was about to weave, the consequences that would reverberate far beyond his initial intentions. The wheels of his machinations were set in motion, and as the game unfolded, he would discover that the line between victor and victim was often blurred, and the true cost of his actions would weigh heavily on his conscience.
"Hey, um, Kim..."
Phillip turned his head, a hint of annoyance flickering across his features as he noticed Chad Jang, Teddy's so-called "buddy," standing uneasily by his desk. Good old Jang, always acting like he owned the place, invading his personal space. Phillip shifted in his seat, adopting a nonchalant yet inquisitive expression. "What's up, mate?" he asked in a relaxed tone. Chad nervously nibbled at his lower lip before leaning in closer, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Listen," he began, his voice tinged with urgency. "I need you to promise me something. Promise me you won't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you. I'm genuinely scared that something bad might happen if the word gets out. Can you promise me that?"
Phillip raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "Easy there, mate. What's going on?"
Chad swallowed nervously before continuing. "So, before school started, Jin and I were cornered by this guy who seemed to have a strange fixation on Gray. He wanted me to pass on a message to you. He said that someone named 'N/N' has returned or something. Do you have any idea who that might be?"
Phillip's eyes widened, a mixture of shock and realization sweeping across his face. "No way... could it be...? It can't be..."
