Is He the One?

How could he sound so casual and intimidating? He is a certified brute!

Habang nagrere touch ay hindi ko parin mapigilang mabwesit sa kanya. Kahit naman madami akong problema ngayon ayoko naman maging mukhang depressed sa harapan ng lolo ko. I wanted to impress him at least not Nhed but my grandfather . Ha! Kapal naman ng mukha nang lalaking iyon kung  magpapapansin ako sa kanya! Never!

Busy ako sa paglalagay ng foundation sa mukha ko ng biglang bumukas ang pintuan dito sa backseat at lumitaw sa harapan ko ang pagmumukha nya.

" Will you be finished in a minute? I have to take this call" .  aniya

I hissed at him and want to throw cutting words but decided against it. I want to cursed him so bad but for some weird reason, I saw him enjoying provoking me so if that's the case I will never give him the satisfaction!

Huminga ako ng malalim bago lumabas sa kabilang pintuan ng backseat hindi sa binuksan nya. Nilampasan ko lng sya na may kausap sa kanyang phone at nagtungo na ako sa gate ng mansyon ng Lolo ko.

" Excuse me?".   Tawag ko sa atensyon ng isang  maid sa front porch.
" My name is  Honey Denn Benzon and—"

" He's waiting in the dining room . No need to bother the maid. I will show you in. I know the way around".
He said cutting my word. Nasa likuran ko na pala sya hindi ko man lang namalayan .

Hindi ko na lang sya pinansin at sumunod na lng sa kanya papasok.

The atmosphere inside the mansion is oriental from the furniture, antique jars, the indoor plants from  every corner of the room , the grand spiral staircase  and a big portrait of a beautiful lady caught my attention.

"Your grandmother".  Nhed informed me .

Wow! I didn't know that this is how beautiful my grandmother is. Ang alam ko lang ay namatay sya noong bata pa si daddy.

Hindi na lang ako nag komento at ipinagpatuloy na lng ang paghakbang patungong dinning. Mas lalo pa akong namangha pagkarating sa dinning room . It looks like I'm at a five star hotel!

The chandelier alone must be worth a fortune! It look like gold is it true? my eyes  roamed around to see the full and my eyes stop at the old man silently sitting on the table, his eyes intently fixed upon me.

" G-good evening, Sir..."
I greeted him and slightly bowed my head .

Ngumiti lang sya  at iminuwestrang maupo. Ipinaghila ako ni Nhed ng upuan sa kanang parte ng Don at sa kaliwa naman sya umupo.

" We finally meet, kamusta hija?"
The Don said.

"M-mabuti po..."
I can't believe na kaharap ko na ngayon ang Lolo ko. Nagsimula na kaming kumain at habang tumatagal ay hindi naman pala nakakailang kausap ang Lolo ko ang mas nakakailang ay ang lalaking nakaupo sa harapan ko na kung tumitig ay animo tatalupan ako ng buhay!

Iniiwasan kong mapatingin sa kanya kasi feeling ko matutunaw ako sa mga titig nya.

The Don laid the  important information and anecdotes about the family. He was surprisingly warm and jovial. Taliwas sa mga nabuong imahe noong hindi ko pa sya nakakausap ng personal.

"Well  time for bed, Don Alejandro"
Nhed interrupted.

Gusto ko syang sipain sa ilalim ng mesa . Killjoy amputs!

The Don just wave his hands to dismissed the thought.

"30 minutes Nhed. We have to catch up. Twenty- one years kaming hindi nagkita ng apo ko. And I had I known..."  His voice trailed off. " Oh well I should have known. Mabuti nga lang at Kay Julie ka nagmana, hija".

Alam ko iyon Kaya ngumiti na lng ako.

" You can call me 'Honey', or 'Denn', or ' 'Annie' , Lolo."

Don Alejandro laughed at the silly pun. " I prefer ' Honey Denn'.

Nhed sneered haughtily, his eyes teasing when they met mine.

Inirapan ko na lng.

We talked  a lot of things and at that same time laughed and enjoying the company of each other  not until Nhed interrupted my moment with my grandfather again  reminding the Don with the time.

"It's way past your bedtime, Don Alejandro. Bawal sa inyo ang magpuyat baka ma high blood na naman kayo." Nhed said

"Sya nga naman Lolo" patiayon ko Kay Nhed.

" But promise to be back tomorrow"  the Don said.
I didn't have the heart to say " no" so I nodded.

"The night is still young, but I'll take you home"  
Nhed offer while looking at the Don getting up stairs.

" No thanks.  I'll just take a taxi home".
I get my bag and walked towards the main door.

" Don't be stupid, ihahatid na kita."
Pilit nya parin at  nagtungo sa kotse nya para buksan ang passenger seat. He waited for me to get in.

I let out sa sigh of resignation. Tila hindi nakakaintindi ito.

" I said I'll take a taxi home,"
I glared at him.

" Dont waste my time, get in the car."
He said full of authority

Damn! He is so brute! Grrr! I came back to my sense when I heard the door close . Hindi ko man lng namalayan na sumunod pala ako sa kanya at sumakay sa kotse nya kaloka!

Future engineer Yan susunod ako hehe Kay Al Bryan na busy sa office nila at hindi na nagpaparamdam sa GC Kasi mas active sa IG hahaha,kay  Jimboy na nagyayaya kumain sa bahay nila,  Kay Jhonlloyd at Jay-ar  na hindi ko alam pinanggagawa hahaha ,  Kay baby Aeon na baby  daw per damulag Naman na and Hindi papahuli  si Justine Clarete na kyut daw lol! Oh eto na update mo Clarete wag  mo na ako paringgan sa GC na kulang kulang update ko hahaha labyah all guys❤️ hope to meet you all at our Bora escapade 2026
