When my eyes opened I let out a sigh of relief. Recently I've been terrified to the point that I'm even surprised I'm able to get any sleep at all. Every noise, every slight change of wind or change in someone's expression makes me think something awful is going to happen, it keeps me up more not knowing what it is. I was reckless and stupid and knew that using any form of my powers was stupid. But that jump that slowly descended into flight that made my blood rush. It reminded me of when I first took the leap of faith and then I saw him. We made eye contact and there was no mask or costume to cover me from the shame and anxiety of being caught. The only thing I could do was run. So for the past couple of days I've been waiting for someone to come take me away. Isn't that what they do with aliens? To test me and ask me all kinds of questions but everyday nothing happens.

I got out of bed slowly. I wasn't in a hurry to see my parents. I wanted to take in every moment in case that's all I have of them. When I left I saw my dad in the hallway. "Morning" I said brightly, he turned around smiling as he messed up my hair. "Morning kiddo" he said as I just smiled back at him. "Don't keep him for too long, he needs to go to school." Ma said as she changed the channel on the tv. "You took your time getting up" she said as she made a hand gesture for me to get into the bathroom. Before dad gave me a little push he gave me a small playful wink. It all seemed normal. When I got out I decided to eat some cereal. I was in the middle of a juggling act with the milk cereal and the bowl. I made a silent promise to come back for the spoon. When I made it to the table and set everything down I could hear the TV from the living room and I mindlessly looked over.

"Just in, the heir of Wayne enterprise Bruce Wayne is currently resigning here in metropolis! We spotted him last week by Pamron Rexford boarding school with his family butler. With him being one of the youngest business owners I've seen we could only wonder what would happen to Wayne enterprises now.."

Clark stared at the tv with this unmistakable shock on his face. His mother caught on. "Clark" she said with a bit of a smile "I never seen you this invested in daily gossip" I could feel myself trembling under the words of the news lady. His name was Bruce Wayne and in one small whisper my secret could be out my life could be ruined. I could end up dead. My silence made my mother continue her thought. "It's such a shame though he's so young. But I doubt he'd leave everything to come over here no matter the circumstances. I can't see a family with as much pride as his allowing him to do that." she said. Her heart went out to all kids especially since he was only a couple of years younger than her own son.

Clark's eyes fell on to his mother sadly.
"He is," he said, trying to ease his heart rate. She turned to him.
"I saw him," he said quietly. His dad who was now in the refrigerator and never cared much about gossip or fancy folk, also turned around. "You what?" he said.
"I met him.. I saw him at that school." Clark began explaining "You saw a Wayne," his mother said. "Please tell me you looked decent and were you respectful." his dad laughed off my mother concerns "And does that matter he's here now slumming it up with the rest of us. He shouldn't do a thing to please that kid." Clark watched their disagreement play out. "He's in Metropolis John. Why would anyone with his kind of money be anywhere near here?" she asked him in a I know i'm right kind of way. "Doesn't matter if he's here fertilizing the ground with our cow sh-" Mom gave him a look before he stopped himself "manure I meant to say manure martha. The point is he's one of us now and if he acts high and mighty he'll know here his name doesn't mean much"
"He's a child, Jon," she said sympathetically. "So is ours, what it does is make him think he needs to go around trying to impress these types of folks. Like he's embarrassed or something" Clark this far into their little toe to toe was already eating his cereal or at least trying to. He couldn't believe he met someone as famous as he is. His mind eventually wandered on to why he didn't go public with what he saw. People would believe him they would listen to him. He even had every right too with all of this publicity. Why wouldn't he bring someone else down to make himself look better? He wondered if he would ever meet him again hopefully in better circumstances. Maybe then he could convince him to never tell a soul.
