Biography: Ryan was born on April 27, 1991 in Malibu. His biological parents both died because of a car accident and on that same day, he would be adopted by a woman named Jeanette Cota, later on that year, he developed a interest of dance, he danced at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy under the tutelage of Debbie Allen herself from the ages of two to thirteen. When he was 10 going on 11, he gained a little sister when Ava was born. In 2005, his mother opened up her own studio called JC's Broadway Dance Academy and at 18, he won a cash for life contest, winning $4,500 a week as long as he lived. In 2014, His sister Ava got a chance to be a part of the Abby Lee Dance Company Select Ensemble team to challenge the Original Team, at first things were good between the Cota's and Abby, but at one competition, things deteriorated when Ava didn't place and lost to Maddie, resulting in a verbal fight between Abby and Jeanette, then Ryan got involved and tried to smooth things over, but Abby told him to stay out of it and cut Ava from the team, Jeanette entered Ava as a independent, but lost again. and even though that was a setback, they knew that things were about to change for the team for the upcoming competition season.
