Lily's POV
—————"We should get going Lily, it's getting late and my mom will kill us if we're late for dinner." She warned me.
We have just been sitting in my car for over an hour, talking, laughing, and continuing the great ice cream debate.
"You're right." I nodded.
"Can I go with you guys?" Xavier asked, looking back and forth at the both of us.
"What do you mean?" Andrea furrowed her eyebrows, waiting for further explanation.
"I mean can I go with you guys to your house? I've never been in your house Andrea, and I promise I'll be polite." He shifted over to face her in the backseat.
"Sure." She nodded and I started reversing out of the parking spot and driving to her house.
After about fifteen minutes of driving, I was parking onto her driveway.
We all walked to the front door and Andrea unlocked it, we took of our shoes and put them on the rack and put our bags on the floor next to the door.
"Hey mom." Andrea called out, and immediately Alexandra walked out the kitchen and came over.
"Hey girls." She pulled me in a hug and did so to Andrea after.
"Who is this?" She frowned at him and sounded displeased.
"This is Xavier, the friend we've been talking about." I motioned towards him.
"It's very nice to meet you Mrs.?" His voice trailed off as he extended his hand.
"Mrs. Smith." She answered, looking at his hand, but not taking it. He dropped his hand after a moment of waiting, the tension in the room was thick and we all awkwardly stood there in silence.
"So, um, mama, can Xavier stay for dinner?" Andrea asked after a moment.
"Fine." She mumbled before walking back to the kitchen.
"She already hates me! Why does she already hate me?" He exclaimed in a hushed tone.
"I think she thinks you like one of us." I crossed my arms against my chest.
"Ew." He looked disgusted at the thought.
"I know, right." I shuddered.
"Let's just sit down for dinner." She started walking towards the dining room and we followed.
Xavier sat on my left and Andrea on my right at one of the head tables that were only put there when there were more than four people sitting.
Alexandra started putting down plates full of food and I heard creaks from the stair and soon enough familiar faces entered the room.
"Come and sit down for dinner, I made enchiladas, rice, and corn tonight." Alexandra motioned towards the table as she sat down.
Will reluctantly took a seat across from Xavier and Tom took one across from Andrea and next to Xavier.
We all started putting food into our plates in silence.
"The food smells amazing." Xavier spoke, and Alexandra narrowed her eyes at him.
"Thanks." She murmured dryly, using her fork to poke into her food harshly.
Xavier frowned, but stayed silent after that. We finished eating in awkward silence before someone spoke.
"Mom, I have something to tell you." Will spoke abruptly.
"Are you gay too? If you are, that's fine." Alexandra started saying and Will cut her off.
