Lily's POV

*Nine Months Later*

—————

"This is taking forever." Xavier groaned as we stood in line on the stairs of the school's stage.

"Stop complaining, we're almost up." Andrea whisper-yelled at him.

"It's hot." He continued to whine, dramatically wiping the nonexistent sweat off his forehead.

"Xavier Daniels." The principal called from the stage.

It took Xavier a second to realize it was his turn, but when he did he quickly walked up the stairs and over to the principal, shaking his hand with his right and grabbing his diploma with his other. He paused for a moment, smiling for pictures, before walking down the other set of stairs and to the folding chairs.

"Andrea Smith." Mr. Mitchell, the principal, spoke up.

Andrea immediately walked over to him, shaking his hand and grabbing her diploma with her other hand, beaming. She did the same as Xavier, walking down the stairs and went to the seat on his left.

"Lily Wells." He finally called my name.

I sighed out in relief as I walked a few feet over to him, shaking his hand and grabbing my diploma, smiling at Andrea, who smiled back at me. I then followed their lead and went down the second set of stairs before walking on the field over to where they were sitting, and I sat down next to Andrea.

"I can't believe we did it." Andrea squealed.

"Me either." Xavier shook his head.

"Well we did it. Believe it." I rubbed my thumb over Andrea's knuckles as a random girl sat down next to me.

"I can't wait for tomorrow." Andrea beamed at us.

I smiled back at her.

We were planning on going on a road trip down the coast to a bunch of different places. Las Vegas, San Francisco, LA, etc. And we would be starting our drive tomorrow, but for today we were hanging out with our families.

After another hour of having to sit through more names being call and speeches being told, the crowd started to disperse and people went home.

"I'm so proud of you!" Alexandra walked over to us and pulled all of us into a hug.

"Thanks mama." Andrea's voice was muffled through Alexandra's hair.

Just as Alexandra pulled away and I could finally breathe again, the wind was knocked out of me as my mom ran into me and wrapped her arms around me.

"I'm so proud of you honey! I can't believe you graduated!" She exclaimed.

"Thanks mom." I murmured into her hair.

She kissed my forehead before speaking, "I'm sorry, I'm just so proud of you." She squeezed me tighter.

"Hi kids!" Natalie greeted as she, Stephen, and Amelia walked over to us.

"You did so good Xavi, I'm so happy you made it through the year!" Natalie hugged Xavier, who had to crouch down to get to her level,

"Mom, don't call me that." Xavier whined, hugging her back.

"I've called you that your entire life and I'll continue doing it for the rest of it, whether you like it or not." She smoothed out his gown after she pulled away.

"Are you all ready to go to dinner?" My mom asked, looking at all of us for an answer.

"I am if you are." I turned slightly to look over at Xavier and Andrea.
