The two seemed to get along just fine. I'll tell you why.

First, they already knew each other way back then. Second, they were close and just stopped communicating because of different schools. Third, they never had a problem with each other. And fourth, they both give off a warm energy between them.

Now, if you ask Harae, she really didn't mean 101% when she said that the date would go wrong. Or when she said that this meeting with Mark Lee was just another waste of time.

Harae also thought about the good side, which includes seeing the guy again and catching up.

Right now, they don't look like two young adults who were forced to meet for the marriage plan to work. The two actually look like friends who reunited after many years.

"I never thought you'd be taking medicine honestly; as far as I remember, you wanted to be a lawyer."

"Yeah, well, it doesn't fit in so many ways. Besides, my side of the family practices medicine."

"Did you take the course willingly? Were you forced?"

Mark smiled. "I grew to love it."

Harae understandably nodded and proceeded to cut her steak when Mark placed perfect slices on her plate.

"About the umm"

Harae looked at him, and then a timid smile curled on her lips. "I wish you wouldn't start that."

"Oh shit, I ruined the mood, didn't I?"

Harae laughed. "Nah, we'll be talking about it anytime now either", She took a slice and happily nodded. "And you still cut steaks perfectly."

"Han, I once grew up slicing standard cuts for you. You're a picky eater."

"Great thanks for spoiling me, Lee."

Mark can just shake his head and say, "And I will continue to do so, now that I am sure that we will be meeting more often."

Harae stopped eating and raised her voice.

Damn, I have my lines; why can't I say anything now?

Harae placed her utensils down and lightly bit her lower lip.

When she looked at Mark, he was already looking at her, staring like he's watching her every move, her face, and her expression.

Harae took a sip of her glass of water to calm her nerves. She was about to say something when Mark beat her to it.

"I guess you came here with a no on your mind?"

"I usually turn down people easily", she mumbled. "Honestly, I don't want to take part in this marriage."

"Even with me?"

"I don't have any problem with you personally. It's just... me", Harae sighs. "Mark, I didn't come from a good family. The Yoons especially treat me like the most sinful monster from hell."
