"Great, your shift starts tomorrow. So don't you dare be fucking late."

I was watching the tame waves, continuously clashing with the coast. It seems that with each passing wave, the sands go along with the waves. But, they always come back, they will always do. With my knees to my elbow, I started to draw the sands that are beneath me. I drew somewhat a figure of my grandfather with his cane.
As I look behind me, I saw a metropolitan city. There seems to be an invisible barrier between that midnight Tokyo and this white Nusa Dua beach. The land, the streets, the buildings, and even the sky, just looks like somebody cut it down like a cake. I stood up and walked forward, trying to go to that bustling city. I heard a door slam, and there he was, Dave, between both of the lines.
"So the other day I was playing Pokémon aight? Like the gold/silver version. And that night, I got to the third gym. I've been busting my gears for this match with this Whitney here right? And that woman there is the reason why I stab orphans to this day." He said, bantering as usual.
"That woman just made me lose hope for the entire woman race, like, she just, she just obliterated me! Hey, are you awake yet? No? Okay, I'll just continue my banter. She had a miltank! And I, being the sad pathetic excuse of life do not have a fighting Pokémon on, and I was there fighting like a coward." Wait, why the hell is Dave in my dream?
"And I was there like with my Mareep and the Miltank is almost dead. I just need to whip out the iron tail, which like, the biggest fatal move that could destroy that Miltank. But that thunder last night made me accidentally clicked cursed on the reflect. And then she uses milk to drink and I was like, nooo!!! My win streak!" He said as he pulled out a chair seemingly out of nowhere and proceeds to focus on his Gameboy on the left and gesturing with the other hand.
"But I know, I know, I just had to lose. Because, in reality, I was too powerful for her. She had feared me and that she had previously weakened. I will continue my character arc, for I believe that I'm the protagonist here. It's all part of my master plan," he then planted his foot to the ground and just focus on the Gameboy with both hands attached to it.
"Oh yeah, and Eden?" I looked up to him as he told me with a straight face.
"Wake up." I plastered a confused face.
"Wake up!"
I jolted out of my messy bed. I gasped for air because of the sudden intrusion that shocked me to the core. As I was trying to grasp reality, my eyes still blurry and my head pounding like there's a constant bee flying around me, I saw Dave. Okay, that just made way more sense. He was there with a Gameboy in his hand, and on the other is a cup of coffee, and looking quite ready to start the day with his signature pig hoodie. His beige-pink bag was leaning against his legs, which he constantly kicks because of his restless legs.
His hair looking as feral as usual, I might have to do something to it. And, I finally take one good look at his face. I could see the definition and the synonym of worried all over his face. He gestured to me a cup of coffee on the bedside table. I quickly chugged it down, as he did. And his face was the same face I had when he did it. Oh, how the tables have turned.
"Eden, if you wanna dress for early Halloween, you should have told me. You be Elle Woods and I be Warner, post-breakup style," he chuckled.
"Dave, come here," he reluctantly obeys.
"Sit on the ground," I ordered as I sat with Dave between my legs. I grabbed my black hair tie on the corner of my bedside table, on the edge and nearly falling. He stretched out his legs and tried to limit his agitations. I bit the hair tie with my lips as I carefully gather the locks of his hair into one. It came out loosely to avoid his head from getting sore. I tied it into one small ponytail, at least to keep his hair from falling during his lectures.
