My Delinquent Roommate [GirlxGirl]

𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚕𝚘𝚐𝚞𝚎

I stared blankly at the thin folded piece paper laying heavy in my hands, feeling threatened to open it. Sharp eyes were on me as my father towered over, his arms crossed and eyebrows narrowed.
"Open it, Riley". He said.
And so my hands moved obediently, flipping the piece of paper open and revealing what could drastically change my life.
"Give it here" my father said, as he snatched it out of my hand to glance over. I saw a grin paint his face as he looked back down to me.
"As expected of you. Prepare your luggage".
Those were his last words before tossing the paper back to me and walking away back to his study. I sigh and glance down into my lap reading over what was personally written in fine, black ink.

'Congratulations, you have successfully placed in Wood Coast University'

I hold the sheet tightly to my chest and sigh in relief, smiling to myself knowing that all my hard work has finally payed off. Although, all this work isn't solely for myself. It's to please my father who is quite wealthy and owns a big business known by the whole town. And so, he wants me to take over when he's too old to run it himself. I've personally never had my own goals, they've always been slapped in front of me. 
My mother doesn't live with us, but I remember her being more lenient than my father. She left me at a young age but my father refuses to tell me why. Other than that, I don't have any family. In short, my father is all I have regardless of how intolerable he can be. And so, I have to treasure what I have.

I shake my thoughts away and get up from my seat. 
"Time to pack". I say out loud.
I tread upstairs toward my room, thinking about what now lies ahead of me.

In these short ten minutes, I didn't realize at how drastically my life was about to change and unfold before me.

And all because of one encounter.
