He looked at me, walked over and grabbed my arm, allowing himself to see the mark on my arm. I got a look at it this time, it was his fox wrapping around my forearm... I re-looked over to his arm, my wolf wrapping around his arm as well. We looked each other in the eyes, filled with questions, and unknowing of what this meant.

"Mr. Robinson, what is the meaning of these dreadful marks!" My father shouted at him.

"I don't even know what mine means! How should I know?" He shouted then mumbled the end.

"Mother, father, what do these marks mean on us? I have never seen them before...” I said starring at them.

At that moment my mother and father pulled their sleeves up, proclaiming the matching tattoos on their arms. My mom’s wolf was on my dad’s arm; my dad’s wolf was on my mom’s arm. Was this... Was this the seal of a mate...?

"Impossible." I heard an elderly man whisper next to Mike.

"Grandpa, is that the wolf mating mark?" Mike asked him filled with curiosity...

"Yes it is Mr. Robinson. We would like to know how you two have gotten this mark." My father boomed. I looked around, i didn't even know what this mark fully meant, and only the lucky ones got this mark...

"Well, so would we...” His Grandpa added.

"Two different forms of shifters cannot form a mating pact. It is forbidden and has never been done in our history before!" Mother shouting as she walked over to me and Mike. When she reached us and made sure the markings were real, she slapped me straight across the face; forcing me to the ground and making Mike growl. Was this the love of a mate? When your partner gets harmed you become angry right away? My vision was blurring, my head pounded as I saw blood oozing onto the forests floor beneath me...

"LOOK WHAT YOU DID! YOU MADE HER BASH HER HEAD ON A ROCK!" Mike boomed...

That was the last thing i heard before slipping into my dreams.

I was little again, playing on the monkey bars in the park. A little boy had walked over, wasn't he in my class? All well, just keep on going on the bars! Suddenly falling to the ground i let out a loud death-reminding scream, at some point the little boy managed to get on top of the monkey bars and make me fall down.

"HEY! That wasn't nice!" I screamed and pouted up at him; he just sat there and giggled at me.

"My names Mike!" The little boy shouted as he jumped down from the bars.

“I'm... I'm Jade...” I mumbled.

"You're my new best friend!" He declared...

"Michael Robinson!! Get your tiny bottom over here!" I think... his parents called him?

"Michael you know better than to talk to wolf-scum!" Was that his mother? I think... Shouted while pulling him away...

Those red eyes started to pour bloody tears, he was weak, he was alone, all he wanted was a friend; and the first one he had ever made he wasn't allowed to be friends with.

His arms were wrapped around me, my face pressed against his chest; he smelled like honey and strawberries, such a sweet scent. His hands smoothed my hair out gently; he was cooing soft words to me. I looked up at him, starring at his lips, then to his beautiful eyes, the ones that remind you of your first kill... I could get lost in them for hours... Then i remembered where i was...

"Well look who’s finally awake...” He mumbled as he shifted his weight.

"Where are we...?" I stumbled on my words while looking around the room. It was a small room, not to big not to small; photos of wolves and foxes on the walls, a big TV, a computer, and lastly the enormous bed we were laying on.

"Oh, we're in my bedroom. I didn't allow your parents to take you home because your mother was the one to do this to you. Cala's in the other room to try to insure your safety."

"Oh... wait... I'M IN YOUR BED?!?"

"Well, where did you think I'd put my mate? "

How was he taking this so well? My future was just decided for me for some stupid reason... That I did not know of...

"So... uh... How did us... You know... Become mates... Don't you have to...?” I stumbled with my words. Why was it so hard to breathe or think near him...?

"While we're trying to fix your head up, your parents explained the ways a mating pact could go. 1. The pair... well mates. 2. The pairs selected by their family have to insure the safety of the pure-blood that they have. 3. Two alphas get in a fight where the female wins but does not kill her opponent. And 4, they were born with the marks and do not fully show up until the two engage in battle."

"Well... we aren't number one or two... Could it be possible we were both three and four?"

"Your parents and my grandpa both stated that two different kinds of shifters are not allowed to mate. Our gods and goddesses would not allow it. So it has to be number three... Hey Jade?"

"Uh... yeah?"

"Have you always felt attracted to me...? I have... Ever since I meet you on the monkey bars...”

"I... uhm... kind... of... yea..." I was blushing, looking down ad fumbling with my thumbs. How is it that just a small fight could lead to all this? Wouldn't this make the council ferocious? What would they do to us if they found out...?

I looked up at him, i was still in his arms, and he felt so comfy; like we were made for each other. At this moment, i didn't care about the council, my parents, or the fact that my beta was right in the next room. I just wanted his lips on mine, his hands on my waist. As if he could read my thoughts, our lips crashed together, sending waves of joy and excitement through my body. I pressed myself into him even more, making the kiss deeper. We kept kissing, forgetting the world around us even was there. His hands began to move up my shirt... his skin on mine sent me more electric waves through me; I bit his lower lip softly. He let a moan emit as i ran my tongue on his lip, wanting to enter his mouth and play with his tongue.

We were pulled back to reality when someone opened the door and dropped a glass. It was as if the glass was falling in slow motion, until finally it hit the wood floor and shattered into a million pieces, spilling water everywhere. I looked up to see who it was, standing there in the door way was a very red-faced, angered Cala, blood oozing from her palm where she had obviously smashed another glass.

"JADE!" She screamed as I tried to hide in Mike's shirt.
