Inspiration Falls

Lily - POV
Monday at Breakfast-

"Oh Lillllllyyyyyy" I hear James say in a sing-songy voice.

"What do you want, Potter?" I tried to make my voice sound annoyed, but looking at James' face, it didn't work.

"I have a proposition, You & Me on a date Friday night 7:00. What do you say?" He answered with way too much confidence.

"How many times do I have to tell you I'm not going out with you!"
Monday in Potions-

"Lily have you thought about what I asked you-"

"Yes I have and you know what I've changed my mind Oh wait no I haven't, I'm not going with you"
Monday in the Common Room

"Where did James go" Peter asked

Sirius just said "oh you'll see"

I looked up at him about to ask what that meant when the cup in front of me was knocked over and James appeared on the table. "Lily I already have the perfect date planned just say yes"

"Absolutely not" I exclaimed as I got up.

Tuesday during Transfiguration

"Mr. Potter, what have I said about passing notes in my class, give it here." Mcgonagall barked

"Oh please Professor McGonagall don't read it outloud it's embarrassing" James said between laughs.

"Well Mr. Potter maybe you'll learn your lesson" She clears her throat "'Lily have you finally come to terms that me and you are going on a date Friday night.' Mr. Potter, this is not appropriate, see me after class."

He turned to look at me, raised an eyebrow, and smirked. I mouthed the word 'no' as I slowly moved my head from side to side. His face fell a little, but then his usual smirk came back.

Tuesday in the Great Hall
"Hey Lily I know you want to go out with me, no one'll judge you when you say yes."

"For the last time James I will NOT go on a date with you"

Except that wasn't the last time. James kept at it, everyday, in almost every class, every meal, anytime I was in the common room. He even came to the library to try and ask me. That didn't work because Madame Pince kicked them out. Now it's the only place I can go to get any work done. Anyways he kept at it, and I kept saying now. Until...

Friday during Lunch
"Look Lily I have a deal for you." James walked up to me and looked me in the eye.

"James I have told you I'm-"

"No just listen go out with me tonight, if you don't like it then I will stop asking you out, but if you like it, well let's just say we'll go from there"

I had to think for a minute "FIne, I'll go out with you tonight and when I don't like it, you won't ever ask me again."

James smiled at me "I'll see you in the common room at 7"

With that he turned around and walked out of the Great Hall. As soon as the two large doors shut, I heard squealing down the hallway, then a couple of shouts of "NO WAY", "REALLLLLYYY" and my favorite "After this you're not gonna be able to talk to her"

Girls Dormitory 6:58pm
I have no idea how this is gonna go. I want it to go good, because I don't want James Potter to waste hours of my life on some stupid date, but if it goes bad then he'll never ask me out again. But do I really want him to stop asking me out. What would I do without his constant pestering. Oh no it's time for me to go down stairs. Where everyone will see me, going on a date, with James Potter.

As I come to the bottom of the stairs James stops me before people can see us. "Wait a second" he throws a coat around both of us "there we go, don't want anyone to see us leaving so close to curfew."

"You have an invisibility cloak, I always wondered how you got around so easily."

"Yep now let's get going, I have a very specific schedule that we must stick to." He said sarcastically as he hurried towards the portrait hole. Causing me to stumble as I was under the cloak. As I fell, he caught me around the waist, I immediately turned red and once he knew I was steady he took his arm away. I can still feel tingles where his arm was.

After we made it out of the castle he led me to the black lake, where I thought we were going to stop, but James just kept walking. "Um Potter, where are you going, there's nothing past the black lake. I mean except the forbi-. NO. We can not go into the forbidden forest. It's Forbidden for a reason!."

"Oh Evans you'll see just follow me, and you already agreed, so no dipping out now."

He led me through the woods, then we turned and kept winding until I had no idea which way we had come. James finally stopped and pulled the cloak off of us. We were still in the woods, but it looked like there was an opening just ahead. He told me to cover my eyes, and when I didn't put his own hands over my face and lead me forward.

We stumbled forward until we were in the clearing and he took his hands away from my eyes. When I could see, there was a beautiful waterfall that led into a river that must have gone towards the Black Lake. On the grass by the edge of the water was a blanket spread out with a picnic basket. I turned to James with a smile on my face. He grabbed my hand, and no I didn't make him let go, and led me to the blanket.

While we were eating, it was mainly sweets, he said that he called the waterfall "Inspiration Falls" because "It's the only place where I can actually think, plus I came up with all my ideas to ask you out here."

After we talked for what felt like minutes but was really hours, we walked back up to the castle. We got to the common room and he brought me to the bottom of the girls dormitory stairs. I slid the invisibility cloak off us and turned to leave. Then thought better and turned back to James.

"You're going to have to try really hard to top that next time Potter." I then leaned forward and kissed his cheek.

I hurried up the stairs seeing that James wasn't moving, I guess that was pretty shocking. As I reached the top of the stairs I heard him yell after me "really you're still going to call me Potter after that" I smiled and continued to my room.
