I let Lucy have the book as I walked along side Natsu. "This...is a book the the duke of evaroo forced Kemu Zelon to write. It's an adventure novel with him as the main character. The development and grammer sucks so there's no way i'd expect this to be Zelon's writing." Lucy said with a smile on her face. "That's why I thought there was a secret in this book!" Lucy answered. Natsu and I looked at her with a confused look on our face.
We arrived at Kaby Melon's house. Lucy handed it to him. "What are you doing? I thought I asked you to exterminate it?" Kaby questioned.
"It's not that hard to do yourself Kaby." Lucy answered back. Kaby snatched the book from her. "Then i'll incinerate it. I don't even want to look at it." he answered harshly. "I understand why you want to destroy the book." Lucy answered. Kaby remained silent.
"It's to protect your father's pride. You are the son of Kemu Zelon, aren't you?" she questioned. I looked in surprise while Natsu and Happy shouted "WHOA!" Kaby looked down. "How did you know?" he asked. "Have you ever read this book?" Lucy asked. "No, I've heard of it from my father but that's it." Kaby answered back. "But it's a waste of time to read it. My father told me that it's a piece of trash." he looked down at the book.
"So you'll burn it then?" Natsu asked and was replied to with a yes.
~Time skip Author-chan is lazy~
"But as time passed I came to regret the words I said. Maybe if I hadn't said that my father would still be alive." He frowned. I looked at him seriously. "That's why I wanted to eliminate this piece of trash from the world. Only with this atonement can he regain his pride as a write." he continued as he lit a match. "Now my father will...." Lucy shouted at him to stop. "WAIT!" The book suddenly started to glow.
"EH?" his wife asked. "W-What is this?" Kaby stared at it, his eyes wide. "Zekua melon...under a alias as Mekua Zelon casted a spell on this book." Lucy spoke seriously as the letters started to switch around.
.... It formed itself into Dear Kaby.
"...Dear kaby?" he asked looking down at the book. "Yes... he casted a spell on this book." Lucy answered before continuing. "The spell that shuffled characters in the book. Including the contents and everything else." The words started to reform. "The reason he quit being a writer was not only because he wrote the worst book an existence, but because he also wrote the best book in existence. The best book which contains letters to Kaby." she answered with a smile appearing on her face.
"This is what Kemu Zaleon truly want to leave behind." she finished as the book landed back in Kaby's hands. He started to cry as he read. "I never...really understood him." he smiled sadly. "Of course, if you understand how a writer's mind works, you'll lose the pleasure in reading the book." she smiled again, this time closing her eyes.
Natsu and happy grinned and I also smiled a little bit. "Thank you." he wiped his eye. "I can't burn this book...." Suddenly Natsu and Happy looked at eachother. "Then we won't need the reward either." Happy naturally agreeing.
I smiled a little bit. "I think I know. We failed to get rid of the books's existence." I looked at Natsu and he nodded slightly.
"N-No... I can't do that." Kaby answered. I sighed and toned them out as I followed Natsu out the door. I sighed again as they started shouting together.
Oh well, no reward, I'll just have to deal with it.
