The hooves of stallions clashed against the cobblestone as they dragged the wheeled-carriage along the road. Y/n sat silently. The only movements she made were the occasional grasping of the lace material that adorned her white silk gown. Opposite her sat the undertaker dressed in a fine tailored suit, his silver bangs slightly parted and his eyes faintly covered. Without context people would mistakingly assume that the two were to be wed perhaps however that assumption would be deemed incorrect. You see it was the day in which she was to be wed to a different man, a man named Gilbert but due to unforeseen issues he wasn't able to accompany her on the carriage ride to the venue so instead y/n for ,personal reasons, chose to go with the undertaker.

She ,in fact, had dreaded this day from the beginning.

Years had flashed by like days to y/n as she still couldn't comprehend that the unwanted day had finally arrived, the day in which she was destined to be wed to her bethrothed, Gilbert (some other picks were Issac Harold Sterling or victor but you can decide the name if you desire to). On an occasion such as this you would surely at least expect a woman to have been the least bit thrilled or excited for what was meant to be one of her most momentous and joyous events of life however this wasn't at all the case for y/n, it was the entire opposite. Ever since it had been known/announced to her that she would be betrothed to Gilbert she had began dreading for the day of the unchangeable/unmissable destined ceremony.

You see as she grew up alongside him, y/n had enough experience spending countless hours observing his actions by reading, dining and speaking with him to determine that he was utterly unfit to become her ,or frankly anyone's, husband. Even though Gilbert was a rather dashing gentleman on the outside possessing a fairly attractive physique and ,what seemed to be at first, a gentle yet kind person who people could blindly perceive him as a perfect husband or boyfriend, who any woman could easily fall instantly head over heals for. Alas things such as these can sometimes be too good to be true and Gilbert was instead a man who was incapable of being tolerable. In fact, he possessed an egotistical yet heartless persona who y/n ,secretly, grew to despise.

This fact was obviously unknown to her parents and she had kept this immense hatred hidden in order to not disappoint her family as they were of a considerably high status in society. She was afraid of the possibility that she could be disowned, afraid that she would be neglected by her own kin. So keeping this fact in mind she came up with a plan. She would do anything in order to get away from Gilbert and used whatever excuse that was available in order to escape from him. On one of her escapes, curiosity had gotten the better of her and there she had unintentionally stumbled across the undertaker, someone who would soon become one of her dearest and most cherished.

To y/n, undertaker was quite the peculiar folk who was the type to be unheard of in society, his occupation was seemingly typical but his interests and personality were another. Y/n had never once met such a man like him which sparked interest from her, the desire to know more about him kept y/n hooked and eventually they're once general and simple companionship had turned into a rather unlikely friendship, a rather unsightly friendship in the prying eyes of society.

As time past the thought that the day of marriage would eventually arrive hadn't slipped from her mind once and during her days with undertaker y/n would often become excessively emotional for no visible or acknowledged reason that ,to no surprise, deeply troubled the undertaker. The dreaded thought of the situation was unbearable for y/n but she hadn't dare to once share the pain she felt. It was hard for her to come to terms with the fact that she had to be wed to such a fool.
