"Arey Ranbir baba! Prachi bitiya! It's so good to see you both again. You haven't been here for quite a few days now." The familiar elderly man grinned at them.
"Hello kaka! How are you?" Prachi smiled at the man.
"I'm alright bitiya." The man smiled back.
"What can I do, Kaka? This Prachi makes me work like a slave round the clock. I don't get the time to even visit my favourite ice cream stall." Ranbir sighed dramatically.
"Haww! I make you work like a slave! Liar! Don't believe him, Kaka. He doesn't even do anything the whole day at office except twiddling his thumbs." Prachi glared at him.
"Excuse me! I keep twiddling my thumbs all day? Had I been doing that Prachi, dad would have grinded me in a grinder and you would have made me brain dead with your taunts by now." Ranbir glared back at her.
Prachi was about to retaliate when the man's chuckle interrupted him. Both Pranbir turned to him.
"You both fight like a married couple of 15 years. Now quit fighting and have something sweet." He handed over their favourite ice creams to them.
His words made Prachi blush and Ranbir chuckle as they accepted their respective ice creams. After paying the bill and bidding the kind, elderly man goodbye; Prachi and Ranbir strolled away from the stall.
Ranbir looked at Prachi once and just couldn't look away again. She was munching on her cornetto with a childlike delight and was looking so endearing that Ranbir kept staring at her, mesmerised.
Prachi looked up as he was silent for a while and her gaze collided with his. She looked away shyly, making him smile.
After finishing their ice creams, they were about to return to the car when an unusually chilly breeze swept over them. Prachi looked up at the sky and grinned gleefully.
"Share the joke with me too." Ranbir smiled amusedly.
"It's about to rain!" Prachi exclaimed happily.
"Oh no! No no no! Please Prachi! Let's get into the car." Knowing Prachi's love for rain, Ranbir clasped her hand and tried to drag her back to the car.
But being the obstinate girl she was, Prachi wrenched her hand free from his grip and scurried away, giggling.
"Oh yes! Yes yes yes! I love rain! And I'm going to enjoy this 1st shower of the monsoon. If you are so scared of getting drenched, then go and sit in the car. And lock the doors and windows." Prachi giggled again.
"Prachi! You...." Ranbir began to say something but was interrupted as he felt a small droplet of water on his nose tip.
He looked up and found that the vast sky above was shrouded by dark clouds. The chill in the wind blowing over the area had increased and the temperature had gone down a few notches.
He was about to make one last-ditch effort to get Prachi inside the car when the one or 2 tiny droplets turned into a drizzle. He turned to look at Prachi and was about to plead with her to come with him.
However, those words got lost somewhere when he saw Prachi who was engrossed in relishing the rain.
Prachi was having a great time, enjoying the cool droplets to her heart's content. She opened her arms wide as if to embrace the rain and twirled around. Smiling happily, she cupped her hands and holding water in them, began to sprinkle it upwards.
Her happiness and smile brought an answering smile on Ranbir's face. He was oblivious to the fact that he was getting drenched, something he never liked before.
