Part One
Sophie walked through the forest as she searched for a way out. She had her brown hair in a low ponytail, red eyes, and wore a knight's uniform with armor covering her chest, arms, legs, and feet. She hadn't thought about what to wear before she left home and had put whatever she thought was right on. Of course, her decisions in life weren't known as the best. She was called "reckless" and "too stubborn for her good," which wasn't wrong.
Sophie had her sword perched on her back as she continued on her way and eventually found a spot to rest in. She had walked for miles and needed time to rest. That was until a woman came up to her. The woman had long curly brown hair in a low ponytail, green eyes, and a purple jacket open at the top to show a white shirt, black short skirts with two white waves going down the sides, and a red border, grey pants, and brown boots. She also wore a type of earring on her right ear that had a golden brace around her ear that lead to a Red Crescent Moon.
She was Zucari Lambert, or just Zucari as she preferred to be called. She helped Sophie get out of the forest and waved goodbye as the two parted ways. Zucari didn't exactly like being with strangers, as her father taught her, it was bad to put trust into a stranger. Then again, she hated her father for how strict he was and how he put her in a bad position all her life. She looked back at Sophie as she went back into the forest; she had other things to do than to hang around someone who got themselves lost in the forest.
Just moments after the two had parted ways, they heard an explosion within the forest. Zucari followed the sound and got there quicker than Sophie did, right then, she saw a fight happen between a knight and a man. The man had blood on his clothing as it trickled down from his mouth and cuts on his body. He had a long cut down his chest and his eye was closed from the minor injury. As he fought, it seemed that everything he did, the knight did twice as much. He was eventually thrown against a tree and didn't get back up as the knight approached him.
As the knight raised his sword, Zucari took out her gun and shot the blade so it broke in half. The attention was then turned on her, and it was her turn to fight. She shot at the knight, injuring him before he even had a chance to take one step near her. She had shot his leg so he couldn't move. When she got close enough, she saw that he had a smile on his face. He then summoned a small flame in his hand and closed his hand to create another explosion that sent her flying backward.
Zucari caught herself when she planted her feet to the ground and the knight jumped above her; just before he slashed down with what was left of his sword, Sophie shoved Zucari aside and blocked the attack with a sword of her own. The girl pushed the attacker back and raised her sword as it glowed with a yellow hue. Her attack was stronger than that of the attacker's, and it hit hard enough for his sword to completely break
The attacker stepped back and summoned fire all around him. He was about to use everything he had to defeat them. A stupid and risky move on his part. Before his attack was fully formed, the other man got up and summoned his arte to cancel the attacker's arte. He had barely anything left in him, so used what he had left to take out the attacker. The two artes collided and created an explosion of blue and red energy that blinded them all.
When everything settled down, the man collapsed as the attacker held his right arm with the other. He laughed and smiled, then collapsed to his knees. He had used up too much mana to continue. The life force that ran through him was running low, so he retreated. But before he did, he told the girls that it wasn't the end, that when his superiors heard of what happened, he would come after the three. With that, the attacker left in a spiral of flames.
Part Two
The man awoke in the morning in a bed with bandage wraps all over his body. He sat up and looked around. By his bed was a glass of water and around him seemed to be an empty room. When he looked outside, he saw the children of the town as they played and laughed. Even though his vision was foggy, he took a glass of water and drank it until it was empty. He then began to cough when he wiped the liquid off his face, he saw that he was bleeding. It was too much for him, even the smallest of actions made him dizzy.
