Harry was on his way to 'Beachwood Café', his usual café for his daily cup of coffee, this time with Eleanor. She wanted to know what all the fuss was about and why he liked the place so much. He'd been smart enough to not tell her about his tiny crush on the barista there.
"Is the coffee good then?" Eleanor questioned him as they walked the short distance from their shared flat to the café.
"Very good. And I like the atmosphere too, cozy." Harry mumbled not one to talk. But it was true, for he'd been coming to Beachwood for months now and he had loved the place. Everyone was friendly and up for a talk which he wasn't, and there were always kids. "They just opened a new branch here a few months back."
"Do I look okay?" Harry asked her nervously just as they made it to the door. Eleanor looked at him suspiciously but shrugged nevertheless.
"You look fine, really pretty even." she smiled back at seeing the small smile playing on his lips as he adjusted his huge pink sweater one last time before pushing the door open.
They walked into the homey café with wide smiles, Harry waving shyly at the old women he'd always see when he came for his daily visit before skipping happily towards the counter, Eleanor right beside him.
Louis stood at his usual spot, the cafe's apron and hat on and his classic bold grin. Harry did always wonder how he'd always managed to be right there when he came.
Maybe it was his shift?...
"My my, Curly don't you look grand today!" Louis grinned at the flustered smile he caused, set on making him giggle today. He noticed Eleanor beside him and stayed silent observing for a bit.
"And who's the fine lady?" Louis teased, the sparkle in his eyes now gone.
"This is my friend, Eleanor," Harry said slowly, face dropping when he saw him stare at her. "She wanted to see the new café..."
Louis hummed, voice now in a monotone as he glanced back at him. "Usual?"
"Yeah.." Harry murmured, looking away at his boots.
"Make that two." Eleanor chirped, watching the interaction closely. She might have just formed a plan in mind too. "And a chocolate cupcake too please."
"Let's sit here and have our coffee," Eleanor said, watching the look of uneasiness on his face. "I'll bring it over, you find us a table."
She shooed him off before he could say anything, almost feeling bad when he tripped over a dog in his hurry, quickly kneeling to pat it with the owner's permission.
Soon Louis was back with the order, visibly sad when he saw that Harry had left without a word. He passed the order to her silently and watched her go sit at a table in the corner with his angel.
"He likes boys," Eleanor smirked at Harry's flushed cheeks, quickly looking down at his coffee. "And you like him."
"No, he doesn't!" Harry protested weakly, looking down at his bright painted nails that he'd done especially for Louis. But he didn't even notice them, too caught up with Eleanor...
"So you don't deny that you have a crush on him?" Eleanor teased, laughing out loud.
"A bit." Harry sighed miserably. "But it's not gonna happened."
"I'll make it happened." El smiled leaning back on her chair with a wide smirk on his face as she whisper-shouted. "Look up right now you'll catch him checking you out."
Harry looked up spotting Louis staring at him deeply, eyes snapping back up while he swayed against the counter. He gave him a cheeky grin, making the poor lad blush deeply and look away. He placed his hand on his cup, turning to around to see Louis' handwriting, his name written down in loopy letters with kisses at the end.
"I'm telling you, you're not the only one who has a little crush." El chuckled, picking up her bag as they headed out, door chiming softly.
And if Louis had blown him a kiss while he walked out, nobody had to know.
