Chap 10 - Hard Work

Hetal's POV

I was busy at work in my office. I didn't come back home until midnight. I felt relieved as I saw no one was awake, as I wanted to avoid question answer session at this time, I could hear my own footsteps as their was complete silence.

After I came back home, I set an alarm 20 minutes early so that I had enough time to take the Mumbai Local Train tomorrow morning. But to my surprise, when I went down to the dining area in the morning, Rudra also woke up.

"Good morning." I greeted Rudra and sat at the table to have breakfast.

Rudra flatly looked at me. The light of my bedroom was turned off at four o'clock in the morning, but still I got up so early and still looked energetic.

"You're very busy with your work, right?" It was the first time that Rudra had shown concern on the daily life of his "roommate". that is me, as I was staying in his room and he took the guest room.

I was a bit stunned by his words and slightly nodded. "Yeah. I had taken a few days off and now I have a pile of work to do. What's more, my boss accepted a really important case. So I have to work overtime these days."

When I recalled that it was Oberoi Company's case, I cautiously asked, "Mr. Oberoi, if your company is going to have an golden jubilee party, then you will not hold this event as a wine party, right?"

Since I had to submit the proposal today, I stayed up all night working to complete the proposal. So I only slept for about two hours last night.

"Right." I simply asked but wasn't expecting Rudra' answer.

"Traditional annual meetings are mostly routine. However, this year the Oberoi Company is celebrating its 50th anniversary. In addition to that, our company has acquired several companies recently. I would rather spend the money on rewarding the employees than on arranging a wine party." he said.

I nodded. I thought that though he wasn't a good husband, he was definitely a great boss.

"Give me your phone" he said and I unlocked it and gave it to him, but with a confusion look.

Then he dial his number in my phone and saved it as "Hubby" and my number in his phone as "Wifey". I was shock to see this.

"Have you finished your breakfast? I can drive you to work." Seeing me put down my spoon and empty cup of tea on the table, he questioned me.

'Drive you to work...' again.

No, thank you." I said

"Let's go." my refusal was immediately blocked by him. As he pulled my hand and took me to the car.

Rudra's POV

When I reached home, I check on Hetal but she was found no where, so I waited in study with the door open and lights switch off. the dim light of the hall and stairs were enough to see anybody.

I waited for her in my study and felt relieved as I heard Mittali's footsteps. I then went to my room to sleep but I could see her lights on till morning 4 am.

Sleep never took me today as I was confused by her behavior. So I got up early and was waiting for Mittali at the dinning area.

"Good morning." I greeted Mittali back as she sat at the table to have breakfast.

I flatly looked at her. The light of her bedroom was turned off at four o'clock in the morning, but she got up so early and still looked energetic. I wondered whether her job really made her so happy.

"You're very busy with your work, right?" It was the first time that I had shown concern on the daily life of my "roommate". Though we were staying in separate room, but it was my room and I was missing my room. I use to enter the room to go to the walk in closet for my clothes.

Hetal was a bit stunned by my words and slightly nodded. "Yeah. I had taken a few days off and now I have a pile of work to do. What's more, my boss accepted a really important case. So I have to work overtime these days."

Then all of a sudden she asked, "Mr. Oberoi, if your company is going to have an golden jubilee party, then you will not hold this event as a wine party, right?"

Hearing "Mr Oberoi" I fell pain in my heart. But I just ignored.

"Right." Mittali simply asked but wasn't expecting my' answer.

once I completed with giving answer to her question, I asked her for her phone, "Give me your phone" I said and she unlocked it and gave it to me with a confusion look. Then I dial my number in her phone and saved it as "Hubby" and her number in my phone as "Wifey"

Because yesterday when she was not back home I was worried about her. But I had no contact number of her's. So it was the first thing on my To Do list today.

"Have you finished your breakfast? I can drive you to work." Seeing her put down her spoon and empty cup of tea on the table, I questioned her.

'Drive you to work...' again.

No, thank you.", she said

"Let's go." her refusal was immediately blocked by me. I pulled her hand and took her to the car.

But since she stayed up very late last night, she fell asleep in the car. After reaching her company, I woke her up.

Seeing me park the car at the place where she got off yesterday, she was relieved, and turn around to me to said "Thanks"

Before she turns around to open the door, I said: "See you soon." Mittali didn't notice the implication of my words. I could see clearly and I chuckled once she was out.
