Soundtrack Song #9: City Lights (Originally performed by Bridget Mendler) - Lemonade Mouth
Olivia, Wen, Stella, Mo, Scott, and Charlie all sat upon there class for their graduation ceremony. The six of them were still in shock that they were graduating among a real class and not over a computer screen.
When they told us that we were officially graduates, something about it just made my heart burst 9f joy. But I didn't have time to react cause everyone began tossing their caps in the air and I couldn't be the last one to do it. I tossed my cap in the air and then practically threw myself into my bandmates arms and we grouped hugged, while also being the loudest ones.
It Honestly feels so good to finish what we started all those years ago. Hard to believe it's only been four years since then.
After graduation, Stella actually surprised us with a grad party at a really nice ballroom not to far from the school. The colors were that of Mesa High (Yellow and Blue) and she also added a pinch of black I noticed. She also invited all the other grads from our grade too.
"When did you have time to do this Stella?" Olivia asked her as her and I got some punch and walked back to the table we were sitting at.
She smiled. "I booked the place about a month ago. I figured if we're going out, we might as well go out with a bang."
"Except where not going no where." Olivia smiled. "We're just getting started."
"Ain't that the truth." She smiled back as the two toasted ther glasses. As they took a sip of her drink. Stella saw her Mom and Dad walk into the building, along with her twin little brothers. "Hey guys!" She smiled as she ran up to them and hugged them. "I didn't know if you guys would make it?"
"Oh please." Her dad scoffed. "Curing cancer can wait. It's my baby's grad party."
"Plus, it helps us get off early when we slid our boss 2 Free Floor tickets to your next show." Her Mom winked.
Stella rolled her eyes prayfully as she brought them into another group hug. As they were hugging, Mo and Scott just got done talking to their parents and we're walking around outside together.
"Have you given any thought to if your gonna go to school?" Mo asked.
Scott laughed. "Yep, and the answer is no. School was not for me, but being a rockstar is working out well so far. Did you tell the others that you're taking time off the band to go to school for a bit yet?"
Mo smiled, but then sighed. "Sadly no. But I'm gonna tell them tonight."
"I get why you wanna go. But I just don't see why you have to right now." Scott said to her. "I mean, you have a Number 1 Album under you're belt. Our second album is more then likely to be Number 1 as well, you're making more then enough money, and you have all of us."
"I know, it's just all my life I had this idea of what I was supposed to do." She explained. "While being a band wasn't apart of it, I couldn't be more grateful that I did it anyway."
Scott thought about his next words carefully. "Are you grateful for us?"
Mo stopped and looked at him. "Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?"
He shrugged. "Cause of the way you look at him." He pointed in a direction behind her.
She turned to see Charlie helping his parents and brother out of the car.
"And before you jump to your defense. I already know he liked you, maybe you started to like him too." Scott said.
At this point Mo was just standing there in disbelief. She knew that things had been a little rocky with Scott, but she wasn't expecting to be talking about it this soon. That was a big part of the reason she was even going to school, so she could have time to get her feelings straight for the two.
"So what are you saying?" Mo asked. "You want me to start seeing Charlie?"
Scott smiled at her while a tear streamed down his face. "I want you to be happy. With Charlie, in the band, instead of going to school cause I know you... and I know that's that you'll be happiest doing."
At this point, tears began to stream down Mo's face as well. "Well, what about you." She asked.
"When everyone decided they were rejoining the band, Island Records reached out. They want me to lead an upcoming rock band, I told them I'd have an answer by the time I graduated." He answered.
"But your leaving because of me is what I'm hearing." Mo said.
"No, that's not why." He said. "I want us both to be as truly happy as we can be."
As Charlie was helping his family out the car, he noticed Mo and Scott crying and hugging. He just hoped she was okay.
"So, Charlie." He heard his Mom ask. "What do you plan on doing now?"
He looked over at his friends hugging and noticed Mo was lookimg at him over Scott's shoulder.
"Be happy Mom. Be happy." He smiled.
Back inside, Wen came out the back and sat down with Olivia. He had a smile painted on his face as he sat down.
"Happy Grad Day." He smiled as he handed her a small bright yellow box with a small black ribbon on it.
She looked at him and chuckled as he motioned for her to take it. Olivia opened the box to find a necklace full of yellow diamonds and a pendent in the middle of it, she began to tear up when she saw what was written on it.
"You give me determination. I love you." She smiled a grinny smile as she read it aloud.
"It's cause you do." He smiled back as he took her free hand in his. "Can't wait to take on the world with you."
"Me neither." She replied right before they kissed.
Right after they finished, the rest of the band came inside and sat with them at the table.
"Are we interupting you?" Charlie joked as they all sat down.
"Not at all." Olivia smiled back. "We were actually wondering when you guys we all getting here."
"Well we're here now." Mo said.
"But the question is... where do we go from here?" Stella asked the group.
