"Hey ladies." James smirks, walking past Emily and I on our way to A troupe rehearsal.
Emily rolled her eyes at him and sped up to get away from us. It had been almost a week since the members of A troupe had been determined. It had been a bit of an uphill battle. Emily and I aren't on the best terms after I said Michelle should take my spot in the front row of the regionals dance. I had been spending time getting to know Michelle and the boys who had made it into A troupe as Emily kicked me out of E girls, her own personal group.
I don't agree with her on anything anymore. Standing up to her is hard, but it has to be done. James has been helping me through, for which I am immensely grateful.
"How are you," James asks me after Emily is a few lengths ahead.
Okay, kind of," I answer, looking down at my feet, not really able to believe what I'm going to say next. "I think we need to dethrone my sister as captain."
"I agree," James replies instantly.
I really didn't think he would agree so suddenly. Ok, who am I kidding, probably everyone but the E girls and Eldon, who may as well be an E girl, wants anyone but Emily as captain.
"Ok, we need Michelle. She was captain at her old studio, she could lead us to victory. And we both know how great she is at choreographing, involving all of our strengths and ideas. Well, before Stephanie ruined it all," I say.
We wouldn't have this problem if it weren't for Stephanie, who knew that Emily wouldn't be dance captain if Michelle's dance all went to plan in the dance off held to determine the captain of A troupe.
"It's not me you have to convince, it's Michelle. It's not going to be easy," James says.
"No shit. Dethroning my sister won't be easy at all. In all this, I'm pretty sure convincing Michelle will be the least of our problems." I reply.
We reach the studio and promptly shut up as Stephanie walks past us. If she ever heard what we were planning, it would reach Emily within a minute.
"Talk to you later?" James smiles at me.
"Uh, yeah, sure," I say, feeling slightly awkward. James and I have gotten much closer in the last few days but I still don't really know how I feel about him. He seems to like me, at least I think he does, helping me, smiling at me. Or maybe it's just me being delusional. Thinking every single look and interaction means something when really it means zilch.
Ugh, why is life so complicated like this.
Maybe some dance will get it off of my mind.
A/N So basically I'm going to try zoom through the stuff during the show otherwise every chapter will be like every episode and I really don't want that. Sorry I kind of suck at using tenses like past tense and stuff, literacy is not my thing. Sorry about not updating for a while, I won't be able to guarantee a certain updating time frame because of being pretty fucking busy, but I'll try update every fortnight I guess (no guarantees haha). I hope you liked the little Jiley moment, I can guarantee there will be more to come!
