Merida stomped into the big mansion, chewing gum while on her phone. The house smelled like a mix of lavender and rose. You could tell Melinda did not want to be there with the smirk she had on her face when she entered the house. "Mom you're home", she said as she dropped her heels and bag on the shelf behind the golden glazed door and walked towards her mom. Her mom smiled wickedly while reading a magazine, she smirked at Merida then closed the Magazine."Merida, the last time I checked, I remember informing you to place your accessories in the right places and not on my shelf!" Mrs Jacobs screamed.
"Like mom, why are you screaming? It is literally not that deep", Merida replied in the most impolite way."Oh really? You mean I am just a mad woman who likes to scream?"
"I never said that, but if you think so, that's fine."
"That's......" Cassandra said as she leaned forward to slap Merida .
" OMG, whats happening here?" Mr Jacobs said running down the stairs. "Can I have a peaceful day to myself in this house? Never!" he said furiously while grinding his teeth.
"Maybe if you taught your daughter some manners, We, I mean we would not be here talking 'bout this." Cassandra said, eyeing them suspiciously, while she walked upstairs.
"I do not think it is my job to teach the kids......" he said before he heard the door being locked. He moves his head swiftly towards Melinda, stares at her immensely and points to the chair. "Merida, have a sit".
The room was so quiet, you could hear the maids movement in the kitchen and Merida's deep sighing.
"How was the interview today?" Mr. Jacobs asked excitedly smiling at Merida.
"Twas okay"
"Okay? don't tell me you did not have fun listening to their stories and experiences."
"Lol. Dad, unlike you, I try not to be slow and I try to be productive in any short little time I am given" Merida said smiling like she just won a lottery.
" Merida, do not tell me that you did not check the details and necessary information of those you hired. That is why I sent you to do that job for me, are you serious right now?"
"Dad, this guy I hired looked responsible and poor, like I had to give him that job cause he probably was gonna die if I did not give him that job."
"You sound so stupid right now, what you just said makes no sense, none at all" he said with open hands.
"Dad, you already know I try so hard to not get involved in your business issues at all and now that you made me get involved, please I beg you do not complain at all, if the new hire does not seem to meet your expectations, you can always fire them. Okay?"
"But......."
"Dad, I am super exhausted, today had been stressful, lets do this tomorrow morning". Merida said as she yawned and waked towards her room.
"Goodnight Dad" she said before the loud bang of her closing door. Mr. Jacobs sighed and switched the television on.

The following day, Sierra's work phone rang loudly, she walked briskly to answer the call like she knew who was call.
"Good morning sir."
"Good morning Sierra, how are you doing today?"
"I'm doing great".
"Okay, if you do not mind, can you bring the new guy in? I heard he is waiting at the reception room"
"I will do that right now."
"Ok" Mr. Jacobs said as he placed the phone back in the phone holder.
Sierra dialed another number. "Hey Steven, bring the new guy in", she said warily like she has been working for days non-stop. The caller on the other end said something inaudible and Sierra hanged up. Two minutes later, Charles walked in smiling.
"Hi. How're you doing today?" Sierra asked while leaning in for a handshake.
"I'm great" while responding to the affirmative.
"Alright, so I will send you to the CEO's office now, you got to smile and behave well."
"Sure ma'am"
"Ok, you can go in now". Sierra said pointing at the door. Charles smiled and walked briskly towards Mr. Jacobs office. He entered as the rays of sunlight were blocking his view. Mr. Jacobs dropped his documents and walked towards him. "Nice to meet you" He said while smiling.
"You too sir". Charles replied and forced a smile. Once again, after so many years, he was standing right in front of the man that took over his parents' company after they died.
