Memories Charles had with his parents before his tenth birthday clouded his thoughts as he stared at the ceiling of his room while lying in his bed. The news of their death was still like yesterday to him and while he grew up, he was made to understand that they died in a fatal accident until he uncovered the truth two days ago that Mr. Jacobs, his father's best friend or so he thought, was responsible for the death of his parents. He felt so hopeless. He didn't know what to do. Anger and grief filled his mind at the same time, yet he felt like he was a coward.
How could Mr. Jacobs have killed his innocent parents because he simply wanted to be the CEO of the company? No wonder he was deprived of his rights to the company when he was a child. He didn't want to tell his grandma about it either because of her blood cancer. There was no evidence either that Mr. Jacobs killed his parents, if not he would have reported to the police.
Tears rolled down his eyes unknowingly as the news about how his parents died overwhelmed him. He used his left hand to wipe away his tears as he sat up on the bed. Suddenly, the thought of having vengeance popped into his head. He tried to shove the thought away but it came back stronger. He finally settled for the idea of avenging his parents. It was the least he could do for them.

The next morning, Merida stopped at the desk of her secretary and said "Bring in the new applicants for today. I'd love to interview them"
" Today wasn't scheduled for the new applicants ma'am", Secretary Sierra replied.
The reply disappointed Merida because she wanted to use the interview to whirl away time instead of sitting all day in her office doing nothing. "What's today for then?", she asked, already pissed.
"Going through the reports of each department ma'am"
"Boring and stressful", she said as she rolled her eyes.
"Especially the transport department. They need new facilities"
"Sierra, spare me the details. Just call them and ask each department representatives to report to my office, instead of going through boring files"
"Ok ma'am."
Merida left her desk and headed to her office while Sierra began to make calls.
On entering her office, she received a message in her cell phone. She checked whose message it was and when she saw that it was from her ex, she hurriedly clicked on it.
Sam: don't forget babe. the offer is still on.
She blushed when she read the message. She had tried several times to get over her ex but she couldn't help it cos she still had feelings for him.
Me: "Sure, haven't forgotten. When is it? I'll be there", she typed and considered sending when she remembered that her best friend advised against it. "Let me just give this a try", she said as she sent it. She walked over to the sofa as his response came in.
Sam: 4p.m. Thanks Merida.
She sat on the sofa, eagerly awaiting the reps of each department. After what seemed like hours, she heard a gentle knock. "Come on in", she said.
Charles opened the door and stepped in. "Hello, ma'am", he greeted.
Merida looked up and saw that it was Charles. The cutie that tried to outsmart her the day before. She debated in her whether she actually had a crush on the company's new employee. She shoved that thought aside and decided to go down to business. " I assume you're the representative of your department", she said as she stood up and over to her desk.
