"Okay Miku-chan, just make yourself at home." I said, setting all of my bags down in my little apartment. The program that paid for my apartment gave me the basics; one bedroom, one bathroom, tiny kitchen, and no furniture. The living room had a matress and a television, plus my laptop and geek supplies, and was littered with manga and doujins. I had to run and hide all my yaoi and yuri before Miku got ahold of them.

"Wo~w!" Miku said, looking around. "This is amazing!" I blushed; even the way this girl talked was adorable!

"It's nothing, really. My school pays for it. What was your room like, Miku-chan?" I asked, making the bed.

"Hmm... It was green, with a white ceiling and white carpets. And I had a bear with a big bow on my bed! And there was a biiiiig canopy over my bed, so whenever I wanted I could close the curtains and be alone." She sat down next to me, and smiled.

"Don't worry, Miku-chan, you'll be home soon." Her stomach growled, and I laughed. "Want some dinner?" I asked, getting up.

"Leek soup!" She yelled.

"Uh..." How was I going to make her leek soup? "Okay, Miku. But we need to go shopping first." I checked my wallet. Three hundred dollars that I needed to pay for shipping everything home, and one hundred I needed for shopping for Otaku goods.

"Miku-chan, do you happen to have any money?" I asked.

"I have it pinned to my shirt!" She said, spinning in circles, trying to grab the back of her top. I reached over and grabbed it for her. Five hundred dollars.

"Miku-chan, you're a lifesaver!" I yelled, and hugged her.

"Yay!" she yelled, pulling away and jumping up and down, "Leek soup! Leek soup! Leek soup!"

I grabbed her hand and led her out the door. Once we were outside, I began the familiar walk to the market; hopefully I could ask if and how I could make leek soup. I thought about leaving Miku home by herself, but scenarios where things went wrong flooded my mind. She could wander off, or get electrocuted playing with the outlet, or get burnt playing with the stove...

Miku gasped and I turned my head to see what was wrong.

"Gakupo!" She screamed. There was a tall man, dressed in odd flowing robes, with the longest, most purple hair I had ever seen.

"Miku?" He asked. He seemed shocked to see her. "Miku-san?"

She let go of my hand and ran towards him. Miku jumped on him and he picked her up. He carried her back to me and said, in the most elegant, traditional Japanese I had ever heard, "If you have Miku-san then you must be the young lady that's helping get us home." Oh. My. Bhudda. There is the actual Gakupo standing right in front of me, talking to me.

Telephone-man wasn't lying. This has gone far enough.

"Uh, yeah. About that, you see, I didn't really know what I was getting into..."

"Please, for my sake," he said, dropping Miku and kneeling, "help us get home. I can't handle everyone on my own."

"What do you mean, 'everyone'?" I asked. Before he could answer me himself I could see what-- or should I say who-- he was referring to. Two young kids, twelve or thirteen in age, blonde and blue-eyed, ran across the busy street. They jumped and weaved through cars and kept chasing each other. The drivers' honking and swearing was barely audible over the sound of their laughter.

"Is that Rin and Len!?" I yelled. Gakupo looked annoyed.

"I'm afraid so."

Miku apparently recognized them as well, because she yelled, "Rin-chan! Len-chan!"

Rin stopped and looked at her. Recognition lit up her face and she stopped chasing her brother. "It's Miku!" she said. She immediately changed direction and ran towards us.

"Miku?" Len asked, following her.

There was another round of loud honks and yelling as they cut across traffic again.

"It is Miku," Len said. He studdied me as Miku and Rin hugged. Turning to Gakupo, he asked, "Who is this?"

"Ah," he said, "I don't believe we ever caught your name, Miss."

"Hayama," I said, "You can call me Hayama."

"I meant why are you with Gakupo-Onii Chan."

Gakupo answered, "She is the one who is helping us get home."

Len scowled. "You and Luka handle things just fine."

"No, we don't," He said, "Because now Luka's lost Meiko and I almost lost you two."

"Luka's here?" I asked. Please say yes, please say yes, please say yes.

"I don't have any idea where Luka went. Meiko and Kaito ran off and she followed them. Gumi tried to help with finding them but now I don't know where she is either."

"Great," I said, pinching the bridge of my nose, "We'll look tomorrow." I turned to Miku.

"We'll have leek soup some other time. I don't want to cook and there's a McDonald's a block from here."

"But--"

"No 'buts'. We're having lazy food tonight." Gakupo said. Miku stopped complaining as soon as he said not to.

"How did you do that?" I asked.

"Luka and I liked to help out with everyone. We're the older siblings, I guess."

"Gakupo likes Luka! I bet he even wants to kiss her!" Rin yelled. I laughed.

"You guys really are like a family, huh?" I asked. Gakupo answered with a content sigh.

"It's the closest thing we have to one."

I hope you guys liked it... I'm sorry for the HUGE gap with regards to publishing this... Life has a habit of kicking you in the lady balls. So, sorry for the mess of a chapter, blah blah, blah, comment, review, read, share, all that good stuff. Tell me what you want to see. I am a big fan of Luka/Gakupo and Meiko/Kaito. Not too sure what else to do...Oh, and "Hayama" is an anagram of "Yamaha" which is the company that makes the Vocaloid software. That's my lame attempt at a meaningful main character. Durr hurr.

As always, Marie.
