Conversion

Shawn

Laurens POV:

"Not like not like me that's what she said Mani before she walked out" I yelled while puking in the toilet what Camila said to me hit home. After she said it I felt nauseous, so I quickly ran to the bathroom where I found my two closest friends Normani and Ally. 

"Okay Lauren you seriously need to take a breath throwing up while talking isn't exactly the hottest thing" Normani says trying to make me feel a little better. 

"Yeah Lauren it isn't exactly easy to look at" Ally chuckles and says which kinda made me laugh.

"I just don't get it you know , what could have happened in a summer that made her change her whole viewpoint on our relationship" 

"Maybe her parents you did say they caught you together" Normani says.

"Well there was that rumor you know" Ally speaks which caught me off guard considering I dint know what rumor. Mani and I looked at her both with confused looks. 

"Wait did you guys not hear what happened its just a rumor, but apparently she was sent to conversion therapy for the summer" Ally quickly says which leave me more confused. 

"I thought she stayed at her Grandparents" Mani questioned.

"Maybe but I heard her parents talking to our pastor, and he recommended a camp to apparently to fix her sins" Ally states which leaves me to the question of who would do that to their child.

"How good are those places you can't just pray the gay away" I state which Mani and Ally look at me but than quickly turn away ignoring my gaze." What" I questioned them. 

"It obviously worked Laur" Normani quickly says trying to read my face to figure out what Im thinking.

Camila  POV:

I felt bad for how I treated Lauren, but she had to understand that Im straight now and what ever we had was over the day I got sent away. I knew I shouldn't have even came tonight, but of course Dinah convinced me to come. I decided to leave before I saw Lauren again I would've asked Dinah for a ride, but knowing her she would give me all these questions of why I wanted to leave so early. The walk sort of gave me time to clear my head, and rethink about what I learned when I went away. The main thought I had right now is what my Therapist said about Lauren he called her ways evil and that she just tempted me into a life style I wasn't made for. 

I woke up with the worlds biggest headache, I don't even know why I chose to drink last night it just felt like something I needed to do. I must have crashed in my bed considering my dirty converses were on, and my sheets were mud stained. 

"Hello Mija" my mother greeted me while my stomach growled. 

"Whats for breakfast" I asked hoping she would make me something to help with my headache. 

"Well its 1pm don't you think it's a little late for breakfast" My dad laughed while coming in through the backdoor holding Sofi. 

"How about you go pick us up some food Mija preferably the diner we all used to love to eat there " My mother said happily Im surprised she didn't notice my whole mood change considering a certain green eyed Ex of mine worked there. 

"Maybe I can pick it up from somewhere else anywhere else" I quickly explained hoping she would agree to the change in the menu. 

''Oh come on Mija we haven't had it since forever" My dad explained which my sister squealed in excitement from the mention of her favorite restaurant.

"Yeah I guess I can pick it up let me get dressed"maybe I would get luckily and she wouldn't be working today. 

I was very quickly proven wrong right when I walked in there she was at the register, but the place was empty maybe this wouldn't take that long. 

"Hi" she smiled at me which for some reason kinda made me blush.

"Oh um Im just picking up an order for Cabello" I quickly said not wanting her to think anything of the blush. 

"That will be 15 minutes" she said while walking back to the kitchen maybe it would be my luck, and she won't bother me. 5 minutes late I was proven wrong when she came back  a milkshake in her hand, and a start tuck behind her ear.

"Here I know this is your favorite" she smiled and handed me the milkshake.

"You remembered" I said because I was so surprised that she had remembered. 

"Of course we kinda did date for a year" she said shyly and rubbed her other arm while sitting down next to me. 

"Not really like I said it was a distraction for me" 

"I know where you really went Camila" she says grabbing my hand which I quickly jolted away. 

"How did you find out" 

"Lets just say detective Ally was on the case" she laughed.

"Exactly Im fixed now so I would appreciate if you didn't try to hold my hand again" I stated which changed her mood from happy to sadness in seconds.

"What did they do to you Camz cause please do not tell me some lie like your fixed those places don't work okay you can't change the way you feel" she explained while reaching for my hand which once again I had to pull away. 

"Just accept it okay Lauren I don't wanna be with you anymore its just not me okay" I said while I saw her eyes start to water.

"Order for Cabello" the Chef yelled and rang the bell which I quickly grabbed my food, and ran out before we could further our conversation. 

When I got home I saw my mother talking with Shawn a boy from my church and my neighbor  he seemed nice, but I never really got the chance to talk to him before. 

"Camila meet Shawn you remember him right honey he lives next door" my mother states while pulling Shawn towards me.

"Hi" Shawn states shyly while rubbing his neck.

"Hi Shawn" I say while looking at mother to speak on why he is here. 

"Alright you two should maybe go upstairs and eat to get to know each other better" she quickly states."Also Mija Shawn is in your chemistry class this year which his mother said since your'e so great at science that maybe you could tutor him throughout this year" I knew what she was doing, so I quickly dragged Shawn to my room shutting the door behind me. 

"So your room it looks" and before he could finish his sentence I quickly interrupted.

"Bland yeah I know" I quickly state which makes him laugh.

"I was gonna say unique" he chuckles and puts his hand through his hair. 

Hanging out with Shawn was actually kind of fun, and turns out we have a lot in common with one another. My mother even invited him for dinner which she hasn't really ever done before but considering the first day of school was tomorrow he had to decline the invite. 

"Well Mija what a pleasant boy don't you think" my mother states which surprised me since she never really let any boy around before but I guess her new rule is I can be with anyone but a girl. 

"Yeah Mom he was really nice I kind of expected him to be boring but he actually surprised" and with that statement I left to bed leaving my mother with the biggest smile on her face.
