Why should you participate/judge?

Why you should judge:

You get to read stories to keep you entertained during the quarantine. Let's admit it, quarantine is boring. Not only that but you may find some hidden ff gems that you will enjoy and want to share with others. Or you might read some genres/plots you haven't read before, so enter and explore!

You get to help out authors in need of constructive feedback. This means you will get to help writers make their stories better and their overall writing better. Be strict, but nice. 

-It can help you learn some things that could make your ff's better. If you write ff but chose not to enter your story(ies), this can help you improve not only your current ff's, but future ones. You may learn things from stories you read, but you will also learn new things from the tips that we, the hosts, post.

Multiple judged for one book

As read in the category chapter, we would like to have multiple judges for one book. This to avoid (to be a bit scientific) interobserver variability. This means that two people do not look the same way. For example, I would read a story and rate it 50/100 points while someone else would rate the same story 60/100 points. Everyone looks at things differently, It might be difficult to be able to get enough judges for every category but we hope to have at least two /three judges (incl hosts) for each category in the first round. For the judged whose book won't make it two the second round a new book will be assigned.

Why you should participate:

You can help get you and your story(ies) out there. Most authors and their books on Wattpad go unnoticed and unread. Putting your books in an award(s) may help you finally get yourself to get recognized.

You might win a new cover and/ or a sticker. If you place in the top three in this award, you will get a sticker that you can put onto your cover. If you come in first you will also get a cover made by us, the hosts, with a sticker already put on.

You can learn some writing tips throughout this award. This award will be posting writing tips throughout the award to help writers in need of support/ help them improve their writing.

You can get constructive feedback from judges. Some writers will be given feedback from the judges to help improve their story and possibly their writing as a whole. This can include what the writers liked/ did not like story-wise, what they can improve in their writing/ what they did well, etc.

Why you should participate AND judge:

You will not only get yourself and your story(ies) out there but you may find some quality stories. As stated in the why you should participate section, most authors go unrecognized, one of which maybe you, the reader, so you can get yourself (and your story(ies)) out there by entering in awards. You may also find some quality reads if you chose to judge the awards.

Not only that but judging may help keep you entertained while you wait for the results, but also during the quarantine. Because let's admit it, waiting for results take a while, and we are all currently stuck at our homes do to COVID-19, so judging would help keep you entertained while you wait for things to go back to normal.

If you also judge you can help in categories that do not have a lot of judges. Some categories are really popular while others have very few judges so if you help judge it would mean a lot, not only to us, the hosts but to the people who have entered books just like you. Because let's admit it would suck to see that there are not many judges in the category your book(s) is in.

You may learn some new things from the stories. While you read some stories it may help you realize that you have made some mistakes on your own story(ies), so you can grow from this experience.

You can help give constructive feedback to authors in need. Many authors need feedback to help their stories grow and improve their writing as a whole.
