KENZIE'S POV
When I got home after school Maddie was already there and sat doing work on the kitchen table
"Hey Mads"
"Oh hey Kenz! Come over here you should get your work done too" she waves me over
Ugh I don't want to do work I just got in from school! She's such a perfectionist, can't she understand I'm not like that
"Nah Maddie I'm just going to get a bath" I shrug and go upstairs
But she stops me
"Ah ah ah! Missy. Come over here, get your books out and work until mom comes home with me"
I groan slightly in annoyance but follow her orders. I take the chair next to her and get out some physics work.
I was reading through the questions when I realised I had no idea what the answers were. Stupid Dylan and Carson making jokes and pick up lines the whole time!
If I ask Maddie for help she'd ask why I wasn't paying attention in class which would lead to me telling her about my friends talking the whole time and that just wouldn't end well.
But I had no choice
"Hey Mads...do you think you could help me with this?" I shyly ask
"Seriously Kenz. You should pay attention more" she huffed before taking my book and looking
"You haven't even tried these!"
"I'm sorry I just don't understand" I tried to explain
"Ugh okay so look you do this...and then this..." She went on to explain

The next day I got to school and I was stood in the corridor near my locker. Dylan and Carson and Sage were stood with me. All of a sudden I hear a cough behind my friends and they turn around. Johnny is awkwardly stood watching us, waiting to speak
"Hey Mr Orlando what's up?" Dylan asks
"Can I uh speak with Miss Ziegler for a minute?" He said looking at us
They all turn to look at me. I quickly nod and look down, walking out with Johnny
He takes me to his classroom and locks the door
"Johnny we need to talk" I sigh
"Yeah I know" he replied, leaning against his desk
"I know we had...sex but we seriously can't be a thing" I told looking down
"Yeah...I know. I don't want to force you into anything"
"I don't think we could ignore each other though. We obvious feel something...so friends?" I questioned
He looked down then back up
"Sure, friends" he nodded
I smiled and then hugged him
"Hey I have an idea. Why don't we go out for dinner later?"
I looked up at him, concerned
"No I know it's not a date, just a meal between friends" he convinced me
"....okay I guess that's fine" i shrugged
"Awesome. I'll pick you up at 7?"
"Yeah I'll text you my address. But right now I have to get to first lesson before I'm late" I chuckled
"Alright. See you later Kenz"
"Bye Johnny" I smiled as i left the classroom

The rest of the day went by quickly and it was quite uneventful
I told Sage about me going to dinner with Johnny and he said he didn't think it was a great idea but I should enjoy myself and go. He agreed to come by later and help me get ready.
