Ghali perched on the rim of their nest. The two sisters were fighting, pecking each other playfully and running around the nest. "Now now, settle down, children," Ghali said foolishly. He fluffed his chest feathers and raised his head. "You are.... Eyas. Small little eyas. I am your.. Father. Your mother is dead," Ghali raised his tone into a more silly one when he said the last sentence. Although it wasn't funny, Ghali was laughing. He was the only one laughing, while his sisters were watching, wondering why it was funny. "Come on that's hilarious!" Ghali chirped
"No it's not. Your making fun of our mother's death," Freyha hissed. "She was beautiful. I miss her.." Freyha cooed, looking up at the bright blue sky. "Mother.. I hope you bless us with beauty and grace and-" She continued talking to the sky. "Oh pipe down, Freyha." Ghali snapped. "Give her a minute, Ghali." Hgala chirped. "Fine.." He watched out of boredom at his sister's praying. He rolled his eyes, then spotted something move out of the corner of his eye.
"MOUSE!" He yelled. Hawks have very strong vision, which makes them great hunters. They can spot a mouse from 100 feet into the air. The height of a 10 story building! He perched on the edge of the nest, and thrusted himself into the air. He dived, about at 100 miles per hour toward the prey. The little creature was sniffing in the dirt, picking up beetles and eating them. Ghali's talons were outstretched, and he landed on the rough rocks. The mouse was now running at the sound of a hawk thump on the dirt. "Get back here!" Ghali hissed. He ran after it, his massive talons scraping against rocks like nails on a chalkboard. He bounced up in the air, then landed again, making sharp turns as the mouse ran.
The mouse was then cornered. She was looking for a way out of this death bird's range. Ghali trapped it by the plateau. The mouse looked around, then began climbing the plateau. The hawk scoffed, and flew back to the nest.
"Weakling." Freyha laughed. Ghali was then watching the mouse, scramble for it's life. "I couldn't get it anyway." Ghali looked around. The sun was setting, and Ghali couldn't even get dinner. "Watch and learn, brother." Freyha dived down, and the two hawks in the nest were watching.
