I see you differently

(Third person POV)

As they both sat down on the ground, Daisuke placed the deck of cards in the middle of them. None of them said a word, and it was dead silent. Until Daisuke began speaking.

(Daisuke POV)

"Well then, shall we begin?" I asked Haru who sat and clenched his pants with his fingers. "You can take the honor and begin." Haru replied. "Very well then." I said as I picked the first card. On it was written: We go back to the first day you two met, what was your first impression of the person sitting in front of you?

I looked at Haru and smirked. "Well the first thing I thought, was that I've met the loudest person on earth, also all you did was complain. So I thought you were a real pain." I replied as I let out a chuckle.

"H-hey that's not true at all! You drove right into a lamppost you asshole. And a bunch of cars! Besides, I saved us from a bomb, and you let me fall into the river as you had that annoying smirk on your face. Yes the one you have right now." He then yelled at me.

"But..I also thought of you as brave. I was really impressed when you risked your life to save us all, even though I didn't show it, I was truly fascinated." I let out a gasp and covered my mouth. What just happened, I didn't mean to say any of that!

A small blush of embarrassment appeared on Haru's face and he quickly covered his face, "You're kidding right? Kambe Daisuke really thought something like that?" Embarrased I couldn't look him in the eyes. "P-pick a card.." I mumbled.

(Haru POV)

I quickly picked a card: How handsome would you rate Daisuke from 1-10? "WHAT?!" What kind of question is that? I said as I clenched my pants. "This would've been so much better if I could've lied, but if I do we're doomed!" I thought to myself as my nervousness began rising. I swallowed.

"I know it may not seem like I think this, but if I shall be honest with you.." I began slowly, "You are better than I can describe with words of my own. And now I do not only think of attractiveness, but your whole being.

At the start I thought you were an absolute asshole, and didn't like you at all. But as i got to know different sides of you, I began to take a liking to the man I met out of coincidence. Sometimes you may not be the smartest, but that's okay.

The reason I always act so cold towards you is because I didn't want you to show how weak I really am, i think everything you do is amazing. I wanted to be like you, so I could become stronger.

After I got kicked out of first division for how careless I was back then, i thought to myself i would never be able to hold a gun again. And i messed up again after trying to overcome my fear, but then you showed your trust in me. You trusted me with your life, and I am truly grateful I can be someone you can rely on..Daisuke.."

After I finished my sentence, I realized there were no need in hiding what I felt anymore. I was too scared of rejection to speak up with my own mouth, that someone else needed to do it for me in the end..

(Daisuke POV)

I was stunned, not able to say a word. Silence was all I could respond with. All this time I've been thinking so wrong about a person that was too scared to show their own feelings, that they hid behind armour made of lies to protect themselves.

"Now that I've seen your true self, let me show you mine. Let me show you all the things you haven't yet been able to see. And let me be able to keep being someone you truly care about."

(Third person POV)

They've now discovered undiscovered secrets, and had nothing to hide from each other anymore. They've been shown worthy of getting set free. And as they walked out, Haru still had something to tell.

(Haru POV)

As we walked out of the room, what met us were a field as green as nothing I've seen before. The sun was about to go up, and the first sight of light was like a golden shower.

But we were not the only ones in this field, a big oak tree stood so tall and proud, showing its leaves and roots to the world. Roots showing what it once were, and what it will become.

"Hey Daisuke.." I nervously spoke, "I think of us just as that oak tree. We once were someone who couldn't understand each other cause we were lacking knowledge, but now I feel like all we can do is look forward and see what we can become, and what we will become."

Daisuke looked at me and smiled as he took my hand in his.

"So..let us live like there is no tomorrow.."
