Courage

Prologue

I was walking over to my sister Skyler, she had been waiting for me to return with our food. She looked at me with her dull green eyes.

"Whats that" I said gesturing to the book she was reading on her holographic tablet .

"It's a anime comic, what did you think it was?" she replied with a sarcastic tone. She is addicted to anime and art, it's almost useless asking.

I glanced at her as I set down our tray. Her sarcastic personally can be severely irritating sometimes.

"That guy over there has been eyeing me since we got here." I told her quietly,  then I leaned my head towards his direction in tell she got the point.

"He looks like a creep. We should probably eat our food then get out of here before he starts creeping over here" she said stressing the words creep and creeping.

I at my cheeseburger and drank my root beer in less than five minutes. When I finished I looked up at Skyler who was just halfway through her burger.

"I think I'm full" she said scooting her plate forward, then brushing herself off she rose from her seat and took her plate to the trash can.

I did the same, we both looked back after we left the fast food restaurant to make sure Mr.Creep wasn't following us. I turned around down the street in front of us. I always loved seeing the streets of the city. The neon lights, hovercrafts they top it off. I love seeing the colors even though that my ability is being a shadow I love colors. Once me and Princie injected ourselves with the chips my love of colors and the city increased, I myself thought that was weird. And when me and her were messing with the chips Princie made hers give her the ability of love and kindness and when she put it in it darkened her, thats the only bad thing with the chips you don't know what they are going to do to your personality. Princie is nice in tell you figure out the rest of her ability. I put a fire ability in her chip so when she gets mad she turns into a fire figure and burns everything in her path. I thought that was a nice touch.

We walked down the street towards are house, where are mom's amazing cooking and a warm couch. If there is anything that can cheer me up it is food.

Me and Skyler sensed something wrong after about five minutes of walking.

"Someones following us" Skyler said

"I feel it to, it's about 170 degrees to our right" I told her

"Ok check to see who it is."

I turned my head around looking completely calm so no one would be suspicious. Then something caught my eye my brain just barely caught a glimpse of it. It was hard to process. Then I saw it it.

"Princie, it's the creep from the restaurant he is about seven meters back." I whispered

"Lets lead him into a alley." She suggested

"Good idea"

It didn't take long for us to find a alley between two buildings and we started to walk down it. Then I spun around to see a man holding a gun at me five meters away. He told me to give him my money. I refused and he yelled and said he would shoot me. I dashed towards him looking like a black smoking figure fly through the air. He tried to shoot but I dogged it easily, I hit his pistol up into the air with my hand, punched him twice in the gut rapidly, grabbed him by the neck then raised him in the air. After about ten seconds I let him go then swiped his legs out and he collapsed to the ground. After I made sure he was out I turned around to face Skyler.

"That was kinda mean you know, all he wanted was a few bucks." She said

"It was fine tell he threatened to shoot me" I told her

"Oh yea he is totally going to hurt a supernatural human being so much, with that tiny little gun of his" she said sarcastically.

She walked over and dropped a twenty on his limp body.

"Thats better" she said

"He's going to need more than that to pay for his hospital bill" I said jokingly

Skyler glanced at me then we walked home.

When we got home Skyler told me to upgrade her chip. And I did what she said.

The first step of changing a chip is first taking the chip out. Well it is to painful to do that so I a made a device that scans the person and I can edit the chip like that. Next is finding where I coded her abilities and you have to dig through the files to find the powers. Last step is a lot of coding and then your done. I messed with her fire form a little so she doesn't turn exactly into a flame. When she turns into a flame her eyes glow and if you look straight I to them the burn your soul. Next thing is that she casts fire from her hands rather then turning to fire.

When I use my ability I turn into a shadow and my speed is incredibly increased and my visibility is very low. And last of all me and her are not always completely sure what the chip is going to do, so we have to figure out a small part of the powers. And the key about the chips is when we add, we have to take away things. We can't have to much code on the chips or abilities or our body can't handle it, so we have to be careful.

After I finished up with her chip I saved the files and walked upstairs, passing my sister's room and the bathroom. Once I got got to my room I looked at my alarm clock and it was already eleven o'clock. I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth then walked back up to my room. I took off my clothes and put on a t-shirt and shorts. I fell down onto my bed and eventually fell asleep.

I woke up around seven o'clock to go down to the basement to practice my ability. I set up a robot that looks for me it senses movement, noise, and visibility. The way to beat it is to sneak up on it and hit it's head. Each round the difficulty goes up. The max difficulty is one hundred.

After a hour Skyler came down to practice with me after round four she got caught and blew up the robot with a fire ball.

After she broke my robot I went upstairs to eat breakfast then I left to wander around the city looking for something to do. After around eight hours I went to a new café in the city called Martha's Café for dinner and left for home. On the long walk home I heard screaming up the street. I started to sprint towards the chaos. After running three blocks I ran into the screaming. I turned the corner and then I saw it. It was a subway station, I couldn't see much because of all of the people flooding out of the entrance. I stopped a man and asked what was going on.

"They attacked the station!" he yelled

"There taking hostages!" Another man screamed

I started to run down the stairs towards the subway station. I was running to the screaming, and stood flat across the wall. I turned the corner and saw all of the hostages and the attackers. I had to stop them some way. I looked up and saw a pipe that looked loose. I reached up grabbed the pipe and threw it across the room as hard as I could. It slammed against the wall creating a loud bang. One of the attackers ran over to see what made the noise. We he got close enough I dashed over grabbed him around the neck and dragged him back behind the wall I was originally at. After about two minutes three others came to see what happened to the first guy. I ran quietly out hit one of them in the side of the head, the other two turned around aiming there guns up to fire. I kicked one back and then knocked the other one's gun out of his hand, finally I crushed the palm of my hand into his nose and he fell back. I turned to face the man I kicked back to finish him off, then I remembered... I didn't disarm him, it all happened so quickly, I saw, heard and felt his gun fire. Then I felt a sudden raging pain in the left side of my torso. I fell over from the overwhelming pain, I only had the strength to lean my head up and look at my side, only to see fresh blood flowing out of the wound turning my shirt blood red.
