I pushed my long black hair over my shoulder and smiled, after a few nights of texting the guy from the park Micheal had convinced me to let him take me out. So far I wasn't regretting giving him my number, he grabbed my hand as we walked the pathway of the park we met at. We had just left some place I've never been before eating, he then decided to take us back to the park and here we were. "So, I was like she's mad beautiful I'm definitely going to shoot my shot even though I was prepared for you to reject me." He said playfully bumping my shoulder, I laughed "You must be from New York?" I asked raising my eyebrow, he shook his head "North Carolina." He said and I shrugged "what about you?" He asked curiously as we came to a stop.
"Los Angeles." I answered and he nodded "interesting, so what brings you to Miami?" He asked curiously "Well, my family moved down here when I was about 16." I answered "Damn you just get more and more interesting" he said laughing making me fake laugh which then turned into a real laugh. I was so quick to fake laugh which is why I laughed, I technically laughed at myself. I looked at my phones time "It was a nice time with you Micheal, I actually have to get back to my daughter." I said and he nodded understanding "it's fine, I kept you long enough beautiful. Have a good night." He said before walking me to my car, he nodded at me before walking away.
I started the car and began making my way home, as I hit the highway a short like child was walking down the highway. They were a bit taller then me, I immediately noticed it was Jamir as I got closer. I said a quick prayer and pulled next to him, I then rolled my window down and called out to him "Jamir!" I called out, it was now pouring down raining, thundering and lighting all that. He jumped as if he was about to start running "Jamir wait! It's Jhené!" I yelled, he stopped and looked at me before sighing. He had big bruises and cuts all over his face which made my heart break, he had a cut on his full pink lips.
I sighed before getting out the car, I slowly approached him as I was now getting hit with rain. "Jamir are you okay? What happened to you?" I asked as my voice cracked, this was horrible! "I-I" he stuttered before wincing in pain, "just get in." I pointed to the passenger side, I don't know what the fuck I was thinking but I was on full on mommy mode thinking as if this was Jheliah. I would lose it if my daughter came to me like this. He looked as if he was debating with his self before climbing into the passenger seat, I turned on the heat before pulling off.
"Do you have anywhere to go?" I asked and he shook his head as tears began falling from his eyes "Well-" I started until he shook his head now full on sobbing "don't let me go back to them!" He cried out, it was really heart breaking. "Jamir tell me what happened, what's going on?" I asked with concern. "My- my dad beat me because I'm gay. Every day, usually he would stop before I got bruised too bad but tonight he was drunk! I thought he was going to kill me so when he finished I packed a bag and ran out the house, he caught me and snatched me back by my bag. He then beat me even more before leaving me there, when I could finally get up I left the bag and just ran. I didn't even know where I was."
He cried out to me, I honestly felt for him. We arrived at my house, he had stopped crying about 10 minutes ago and was now back kind of cheery after I gave him a little speech. I opened the and let him in, I then stepped in behind him and locked the door.
"Do I need to take you to the hospital?" I asked as he winced, he then shook his head "Okay well I'll take you shopping tomorrow and we could figure something out, but for right now you can sleep in the guest room. Make yourself at home, in the morning I'll give you a tour." I said and he nodded and thanked me. I lead him to the guest room then went to my room, I then went and check on Jheliah she wasn't in her room which meant she was in my room. But I did see Jade asleep on the air mattress next to Jheliah's bed. I closed the door softly and turned the light off leaving the tv on and the night light.
I made my way into my room and seen Jheliah knocked out on my bed laying sideways, I giggled and sat her up before laying her down right. I then took a quick shower, put on pajamas and got in bed. I grabbed my phone to call my sisters Miyoko and Kareena, they answered and Kareena aggy ass immediately put us on paused "Kareena take us off pause! This is important and I need to see your face!" I called out making them both laugh
"Girl you better get to talking, it's already 1:15 am." She said and Miyoko agreed "Anyway, remember when I went and sighed Jheliah up for daycare?" I asked and they both said yeah "Well I met the little boy from the office, his name is Jamir. So today I was leaving my date with Micheal, I took the highway and boom. I see Jamir walking and mind you, it's pouring down raining. So I pull over and talk to him, I told him to get in and all that because he was crying. When he got in the car he explained to me what happened-" I was cut off by Miyoko munching on some loud ass chips and smacking "finish the story!" She said like she was making all that damn noise, I stank faced her and kept talking "so he told me his dad abused him on a daily but tonight it was worse, he told me he didn't have any where else to go so boom I brung him here and he's in my guest room asleep I guess." I said animatedly telling the story.
"Aww, Who knew Jhené had a nice side?" Kareena joked, "but seriously you didn't the right thing, but are you going to take him to the police or hospital or something?" Miyoko asked I nodded "yea tomorrow first thing in the morning so I won't be going to jail for fucking kidnapping somebody child." I said laughing and they agreed "Period, but I got to go before Namiko wake up." Miyoko said and I nodded. We hung up the group face time and I laughed down watching tv until I fell asleep.
