I had been in relationships before, but my new found one with Stiles was shaping up to be the most unique one. Constant similarities in past situations were lots of sex, arguing and not much talking. But in the week since my roommate and I made things official there had been zero sex, playful arguing and lots and lost of talking. Stiles could ramble for hours, probably because of his ADHD, but whatever the reason I was happy to have it. He could find anything to talk about and when he was done he'd start over again.
Still, there seemed to be some pull on Stiles' end, like he was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I was surprisingly half awake for it to be so late. The ceiling looked particularly interesting as I gazed with my hands folded neatly under my head. Though it seemed like no time had passed at all I felt already so close to Stiles. He wasn't afraid to share, he listened to me when I spoke, and was so smart even though he could never sort out his thoughts. I could say without a doubt I wanted to try %100 with Stiles but it could only work if he trusted I'd never walk out again; and my plan would start first thing in the morning. Stiles would feel so wanted he wouldn't know want to do.
But all at once my ears were suddenly throbbing, as the fire alarm rang throughout the apartment like dorm room. I jumped from the bed to find Stiles on a chair in the kitchen waving a towel frantically at the blaring siren "Stiles?!" I shouted over the noise, running to the smoking pan on the stove.
His eyes grew, following my frantic steps "Derek! Oh my god I hope I didn't wake you"
"What's going on?"
"I couldn't sleep and I was trying to finish an assignment then I got hungry and-and shit I'm so sorry. Go back to bed I got this" The sound ceased and he was hopping from the chair. The sudden quietness was like heaven.
"Just let me-" I shook my head.
"I was just trying to reheat leftovers I turned away for one minute, I swear" I was reaching for a towel wiping some of the char from the wall when he gripped my arm and snatched the towel "I-I'm not crazy I promise I just-I just...I" Stiles pupils were blown wide and were borderline glossy as he tried to find the words. I was half asleep but even through my delusion I could tell the look on his face was one of fear. Stiles didn't want to scare me off, he didn't want me to rethink being with him.
He had pushed past me, angry with himself as he scrubbed roughly at the wall. I offered him a quiet sigh and slowly took his hand and stopped his eager ministrations "Hey let's go to bed yeah?"
"W-What-Together?" He looked incredulously at me, pink lips parted as he breathed heavily.
"Yeah. I'm sleepy"
We laid in the bed not five minutes later. Stiles was tossing and turning, his legs shuffled trying to find the right spot "Stiles" I warned.
"Sorry"
When I woke the next morning Stiles was gone. Not just from my room, but from the dorm. All I could really think was that he waited for me to fall asleep before sneaking from the bed and cleaned the place. The mess and char marks he made the night prior were gone, the kitchen was spotless and there was a small plate of bacon and waffles on the table with a note next to it that read "I'm sorry" in Stiles' chicken scratch.
I pulled out my phone and stuffed a strip of bacon into my mouth.

Where'd you run off to?To Stiles-8:25am
Hurry back. I don't have a class until 1 ;)I didn't get a response. Not for the rest of the day. It came to one and I was fully dressed and slinging on my backpack to endure an hour of a marketing class. I tried to take my mind off of the fact Stiles had ignored me, I joined Boyd for a run, then proceeded to pig out by myself with a burger. The day was a flop, so much for my attempts to shower my new boyfriend.
When I finally returned back that night Stiles was fast asleep on the couch, snugged tightly under a blanket. The tv was on, and the only source of light in the dark place. I smiled at how peaceful he looked and the way his eyelids flutter proving that he never ever really stopped moving even when he was sleeping. I slid off my book bag and padded quietly to the other end. Careful not to bump the coffee table I kneeled before him and poked lightly at his forehead. When he didn't respond I ran a soft finger down his cheek and he was flinching before swiping at the air. My fourth attempt his eyes were finally fluttering open "Derek?" his voice rasped "What are you doing? How long have you been here?"
"Not long" I grinned at his confused at his sleepy face "C'mon" I beckoned.
"Where are we going?" he sat up rubbing at his eyes. Stiles was a curious person so he was all ready to get up and go.
I held out an eager hand, helping him up "A date"
Thirty minutes later Stiles was trudging behind me after a quiet car ride. It wasn't like him to say nothing but I knew what was wrong and decided not to push. I had a plan.
Once at the mysterious place, we ditched the car and walked the pavement. We were close to the destination when an annoyed growl came from Stiles and he was shouting at my back "About your messages... I'm sorry for ignoring you it's just I was upset. N-Not at you at myself I-"
"Hey. It's okay. C'mon we're almost there"
"Where exactly is 'there'?"
"My future" I sighed in relief and Stiles sighed from being out of breath. He finally caught up to me and we were shoulder to shoulder staring at an open lot "See, when I was little my family lived here. Now, I don't remember too much but one thing I do remember is that my father loved his job. The thing is he also loves giving people chances, he tries to see the good in everyone. So he decided to give his brother in law a chance, no matter how many times he had proved he didn't deserve it my father tried with him, and things were good--for a while. Only because it turned out Peter was trying to overthrow my father, then he ended up toppling the entire company. My father shut down the business and we moved"
"Is that why you majored in business?" I nodded, watching his eyes stare longingly back into mine "I still don't understand why we're in an abandoned lot"
"This, is where the first building of Hale enterprises once stood. It was never bought and the city demolished it" I expanded my arms gesturing to the ruble around us "I am going to be the one who brings it back"
Stiles nodded, and suddenly grinned "It's going to be beautiful"
At first, I just stared at him in shock. For the most part I thought everyone would look at me like I was crazy, or even tell me it was impossible. But without a second thought Stiles was encouraging me "You really think I can do it? Just like that?"
"I think you can do anything and everything you put your mind to" he beamed widely. Then Stiles was hurrying towards the side walk to get the entirety of the space "I can see it now. Stories high, your name in big letters. Revolving no--or oooo maybe french doors. The entire place lined wall to wall in windows. And your office can have one large window, big enough to have a view of the entire town-I wouldn't visit you at work though because I can't do anything higher than 50 feet-but you deserve a great view. And at night there can be lights, subtle of course because I know how discreet you are, but they can shine just like the empire state bui-"
I stopped short his ramblings as I pulled on his bicep and pressed a kiss to his lips. I love the way his arms slowly fell around my neck, winding tightly. He stood slightly on his tip toes to get the full effect as he pressed his body into mine. The way he kissed always mesmerized me, it was like he vibrated with every slide of our lips. He pressed his tongue to the seem of my mouth and suddenly I was lifting him from the earth. He grinned into the kiss until it was nothing but teeth clashing.
When his feet returned to solid ground he was pulling away to stare at me inquisitively, the look on his face a questioning one "Why did you bring me here Derek?"
"No one knows about my plan. I wanted to share it with you, I wanted you to be the first to know"
"Why?"
"So you know you're special to me. I don't want you to doubt me anymore Stiles. I was wrong to run away in the beginning, but I won't again. I know what I'm getting into, and I like who you are. I don't see ADHD or someone who burns food at three in the morning, I see you...Tell me you believe me"
"I do Derek"
