Kiana's POV:
I woke up to the smell of rich, smooth coffee. I groaned out of tiredness, and stretched out my body. I didn't realize I was shivering a bit, before I noticed goosebumps on my arms. It made me think of Chris. I missed his warmth. I missed his hair poking my face whenever I hugged him. He needs to cut that shit, it's getting too long, I chuckled to myself.
But being in my own bed gave me a sense of relief. I didn't feel any paranoia from the fact that I ran away. The guilt wasn't eating at me anymore.
After minutes of just staring up at the ceiling, I decided to head downstairs. But not before I put on a big sweater and took out my septum. They gave me a lecture about that last night, but accepted it anyway. I chuckled at how pissed my mom was about it.
"Morning!" I cheerfully chirped to my parents. My mom was making my favorite: spam and eggs with fried rice! I miss this so much.
"Morning, Nene," my mom smiled at me, as well as my dad.
I sat down at the table, and started eating my food.
"So, um.. I'm thinking of applying under Frazier's company. I'll start online school for researching in either marketing or operational. And plus, I already earned my college credits in Junior year. While I'm working on my degree for that, I'll probably work at Bath and Body for a whole during the summer. I've always wanted to work there," I giggle after I told them my plan.
"Wow, you really planned this out," my father gleamed at me.
I nodded, "Yeah, I've been thinking about it for a while."
"Nene, I suggest you stay with us until you finish highschool. You only have two weeks left until you're done," my mother says.
I agreed with her, and nodded. I didn't have much money or support at the apartments, so I'll stay here until then. I guess I have to go back to school on Monday.
Later:
I walked to Chris' place. I had to tell him what was going on, I needed to get my life back together. I don't know what I was doing, thinking I was going to live this life with him. I still could, but not like this.
I knocked on his door, but he didn't answer. I knew he was in there, as his massive laugh was faintly evident behind the door. I opened it slowly, just to find Chris with his friends Isaac and Nathan, smoking hooka. I awkwardly closed the door behind me, cracking a slight smile at Chris.
"Kiana, babe, come here," he motioned flr e to sit next to him. My stomach fluttered at his words.
I caught a glimpse of Isaac smirking at me, licking his lips. I shook it off, and sat close to Chris. Thankfully he didn't notice.
"Wanna join?" Nathan's faded blue eyes gleamed at me.
I thought about it, and decided against it, "Nah, I'm good, thanks. Um, Chris I actually needed to talk to you."
"Alright, shoot," he put his arm around me, shifting his body towards me.
"In private," I whispered lowly to him. His eyes widened a bit and nodded. He took my arm and led me to his room. He closed the door in the smoothest way possible.
I looked at the floor before beginning, "I'm thinking of staying with my parents until I finish school. And uh, I'll actually be studying for research at Frazier."
His smile dropped as I explained more and more. "Look, I really think it's good that you wanna get your shit together. But Kiki, I-"
I cut him off quickly, "You what?"
He glanced around his room before stating nervously, "I wanted you to stay with me."
