Apparently, people are forced to read this book in school? Anyhow, it's about a 14-year-old boy who is growing up in the 'trashy' part of town. After his friend commits murder, he runs away with him, and survives a bit on his own. This story is another one that is sure to make you sad. Not only is it about violence and stuff, but also about the power of friendship and loyalty.I read this book in the summer of 2020, and it was really hard to pick up another book afterward. You know, after you read a really good/emotional book and it's like you can't read another one because it doesn't seem like any other book on the planet could be better? Yeah, exactly the case here. And if you haven't experienced this, you haven't found the right book.
The amazing thing about this whole book; the author was only 16 when they wrote it. It's definitely on my top ten of favorite books.
9.9/10
