(6) Temptations
The moment my eyes opened, I immediately looked at Xavier. He was somehow underneath me, his head just inches from my face. He was still asleep, his eyes closed and lips slightly apart as if he were whispering something. I noticed the marks on his chest I had left last night, almost feeling guilty about it. Then I remembered being crushed between the floor and his body. Why was he so stubborn about this? Why didn’t he give me a chance and learn? Instead, he teases me and fights me as if it were just a game of laughs. It wasn’t funny to fight with him, nor was it entertaining.
His eyes opened, startling me for a moment. “Hello there,” he murmured.
I smiled and brushed my hand across his cheek lovingly. I was so determined to win a fight that I was willing to play him when he was most vulnerable. My lips pressed right over his heart while I prepared to attack him. He brushed the hair from my face, giving me the perfect opportunity to attack. I extended my fangs and grabbed onto his neck as if to strangle him, but he grabbed my wrists almost instantly. We tumbled off the bed and rolled around on the floor, his chest smashed against mine to keep me from shoving away.
“Gah!” I gasped when we finally stopped rolling, the shirt I wore was now up to my ribcage, exposing my stomach and underwear. Lovely.
“Mmm, you’re awfully sassy when you first wake up,” he purred while his free hand traced over my stomach.
“Why can’t you teach me?”
“Drop it, Lucy. We’ve already discussed this. I’m not going to teach you.”
I managed to smash my head into his, causing us both to roll over and lay flat on our backs. He cussed and rubbed his forehead while I just stared at the ceiling, feeling my forehead ache. So he was able to cuss and I wasn’t? He has always been such a hypocrite. This only made me more furious.
“Well, that was some interesting foreplay,” Xavier murmured, casting a smirk my way.
I scowled and almost threw a lamp at him.
He got to his knees and crawled over to me until he was hovering over me. He didn’t hold me down like he had before, but instead began brushing my hair from my face. I felt his lips press into my shoulder while his hand squeezed my thigh. I didn’t even move.
“Still angry, love?” he asked into my neck.
“Extremely.”
He kissed my forehead, my cheeks, and finally my lips in order to change my mood. It didn’t work.
“Since you aren’t planning to teach me how to defend myself and possibly save my own life… Well, I am not planning to sleep with you anymore.”
Xavier’s eyebrow rose at my sudden statement. “Excuse me?”
“I’m not planning to have sex with you, is that clearer to understand?”
His expression went entirely blank. “You can’t be serious. You wouldn’t last two days.”
That statement alone made me want to snap him in two. “I will last much longer than that.”
He rolled his eyes. “You’ve tried this before, sweetheart, and it never works.”
A smile spread across my face. “Sweetheart, I want this much more than I want that.” I gave a slight brush against his inner thigh, still smiling.
It finally occurred to him that I was, in fact, serious. “That’s ridiculous. You’re behaving like an insane person.”
I placed my hands on either side of his chest and slowly pushed him off me until I was out from under him. “You’re only saying that because you were hoping for some. Teach me how to fight like you and then you will get some,” I purred while running my fingers through his hair.
