Spencer's POV

I laid in bed staring off at the roof. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop thinking. I rolled over and put a pillow over my head. Just talking to (y/n) had me feeling a way I haven't felt in the last two years. She was just... she was so sweet. And don't get me started, she's absolutely stunning. While we were there eating and talking... I just couldn't stop myself, I had butterflies in my stomach for lack of a better term. Ooh or maybe moths. I chuckled at my own thoughts.

I shouldn't be feeling this way though. She just got ditched by her ex and the idea of a relationship is probably the last thing on her mind. Also I mean we literally just met a few hours ago. I groaned in frustration into my pillow.

"Brain just f*cking sleep damn it." I mumbled to myself.

About 15 minutes later whenever I finally accepted my fate that I wasn't going to be sleeping anytime soon I decided I might as well go and use the bathroom while I was still awake. I kicked the covers off of myself and sat up, rubbing my eyes. I got up out of bed and quietly opened the door, careful not to wake (y/n) up. I crept out into the hallway.

I made my way to the bathroom. I flinched a bit as I flushed the toilet. I hope I didn't wake her up. I washed my hands before quietly opening the door. It creaked as I pushed it.

"Stupid f*cking door." I mumbled. I started to walk back to my room so I could hopefully get some sleep. I heard a faint noise from (y/n)'s room and I paused outside of her room. What was that? I inched a bit closer to the door and listened carefully. Was she crying? Oh no, I think she is... Should I see if she's okay?  I took a deep breath.

I gently knocked on the door. "Can I please come in?" I asked softly.

"Y..yeah." I heard the quiet, muffled reply.

I opened the door and came into the room. I sat down on the bed beside her. Her face was buried into a pillow. I heard her sobbing. I gently rested my hand on her back.

"Can you please sit up and talk to me?" I asked quietly. She shook her head.

"Please? I don't want you to feel like this."

I sat there waiting for her response. She stayed silent for a minute before slowly moving up to a sitting position. Tears were streaming down her cheeks. I felt my heart breaking just at the sight of her like this. I knew how she felt right now and it was far from a great feeling.

I wiped the tears off of her cheeks with my thumb and just rested my hand there for a moment. I stared into her tear filled eyes. "It's going to be okay. I promise." I reassured her.

She sniffled. "No it's not."

"Please listen. They're not the only person out there. I know there's someone out there who actually cares about you, unlike them. You may not have met them yet. You might have known them for a long time." I paused. "You may have just met them recently. But they're not the only person out there. You deserve better." I wanted to smack myself. Why did I say the recently part, she might realize how I feel, oh sh*t.

She slowly nodded. "I...I guess you're right... I just feel so hurt, they broke my heart..." She trailed off. I guess she didn't pick up the hint, that's probably for the better.

"Just take some deep breaths and lay down I'm gonna go get you some water. You need anything else?"

She shook her head and laid down. I covered her up with a blanket. I stood up and walked out into the hallway.

"It's so f*cking cold." I mumbled to myself once I got into the kitchen. I got her a cup of cold water and grabbed an extra blanket for her off of the couch on my way back. I came back into her room and luckily she had stopped crying.

"Sit up, I got some water for you." I said caringly. She sat up and carefully took the glass from me and slowly started sipping on it.

"You good? Do you need anything before I go back to bed?" I said as I stood up to leave.

She reached up and gently grabbed my arm. I stared at her a bit surprised.

"C..Can you please stay?" She asked quietly, shyly looking down not wanting to meet my gaze.

I was kind of surprised. She wanted me to stay the night in here with her?

I smiled. "Of course. Let me just go grab another blanket from my room because I am freezing my a*s off."

She smiled weakly. "Okay but just come back please."

"Of course I will." I said and walked across the hall and into my room. I quickly gathered up a blanket and a pillow and came back into her room, quietly shutting the door behind me. I spread the blanket out across the bed. I got into the bed and got comfortable under the covers and adjusted my pillow before resting my head on it. I was close to drifting off to sleep when... she started snuggling up against me? I raised my head up a little bit and looked at her with a look of slight confusion.

"Oh I..I'm sorry." She mumbled and she moved away towards the other side of the bed.

"Wait. You can come back over here. Please." I said and she slowly inched back over and laid her head on my chest. I smiled at her as she snuggled up to me. "You comfy?"

She nodded. "Goodnight Spence."

My heart fluttered a bit.

"Goodnight (Y/N)."
