so for my art summer work. four pieces. each 18 inches by 24 inches (45.72 cm by 63.5 cm). and working for hours at a time i end up sitting hunched over even tho i have an art table because bottom of the page exists. anyway i finished my second one today and thought i'd share it with y'all including some pictures from before it was finished.

half the sketch (very light good luck). for realism, i sketch by gridding my papers into 4x4 and then measuring and plotting key points and connecting them, hence why it looks the way it looks.

you might be able to see the top left corner is not sketched. i completely gave up trying to sketch that corner because it was flowers and basically went FUCK IT IM MOVING ON TO SHADING ILL COME BACK TO IT. yes there is a stuffed duck wearing glasses in my still life you are not mistaken.

this is when things got difficult because i had to flip my project upside down and work on it so i didn't smudge anything because of the way i decided to shade it. the hat had taken me about eight hours and i was ready to be done, so i was kinda rushing for the bits after it.

and this is the result of not finishing sketches before shading lol. weird white boxes.

and the completed thing! it's not too terrible and i don't hate it but lordy i'm glad to be done. i would post my first project but it's literally my face so nooooo thank you lol. this is the weirdest still life i've ever seen.
