The three continued to switch out throughout the night to stand guard while the other two slept.
Finally morning cam as the sun crept over the horizon.
Sapnap was the one who took the final watch, yawning. He got up and put the fire out, humming to himself.
The other started to wake up, getting up to pack their things and continue their hunt.
For some reason, the air felt heavy, as if something was off.
This feeling had the others on edge. They would look around every now and then, to make sure that they went being watched. But nothing was there..At least..that's what they thought.
George looked at the others. "Are we ready to go??" He asked them. "Have all your stuff?"
Bad nodded and hummed. "Mhm~! All set!" He said.
Sapnap just silently agreed.
"Alright then." He said, taking a glance around. "Lets go." He turned and started heading off.
The three walked along the forest ground, leaves and such crunching beneath their feet. About an hour or so in, they paused to take a look at their map.
"So we're somewhere around here," Sapnap pointed to a forest biome on the map. "And we need to head north to where people said Dream was headed." He moved his finger up the map.
"Yeah, but there's nothing up that way, why would he go there??" Bad asked. "All the villages and cities are down south." He pointed to the lower half of the map where all the symbols for cities were.
"Well there has to be some sort of reason, right??" George looked at them. "This is Dream we're talking about, he never goes into anything with out a plan."
"Maybe so but-"
A tug snapped behind them. They paused, turning to where the sound came from.
"Who's there!?" Sapnap barked. "Get out here and show yourself!"
Silence filled the air.
George pulled out his compass, looking down at it. The compass also doubled as a tracker. He could see the three dots that represented the three of them, but there was also a fourth. "It's someone." He mumbled to them.
The other two looked at each other, already assuming the worst. "We need to take them out." Sapnap whispered.
"What do we- Ah, WATCH OUT!" George tackled Sapnap away as a figure jumped down from the trees above the, swinging his sword. It dawned a white mask with a smile carved into it. Blood was splattered over its clothes.
"aAH-" bad yelped, backing off. He grabbed a throwing knife from his belt and threw it at him.
While Dream tried to dodge it, the other two lunged at him. He ducked and threw an object down to the ground. The second it hit the ground, smoke screened the entire area around them as a ear piecing ringing sound rang out.
George fell to his knees, covering his ears.
Sapnap winced, but kept trying to fight, swinging his sword to try and clear the smoke a bit.
Bad looked around. "Guys? Guys, are you alright!?" He asked. He felt someone grab his arm. "Sapnap? Are yo- MMMN!!" A clothe was forced over his nose and mouth. He struggled against his his grip before his world faded to black.
The smoke started to clear.
"Bad? BAD??" George called.
"George??" Sapnap called. He managed to find his arm, holding on so they didn't loose each other again. "Where's bad??"
They looked around before george pointed above them. "Look, up there!!"
The figure stood on the branch, holding Bad in his arms. He looked down at them before turning and running off with the other boy.
"HEY GET BACK HERE!!" Sapnap went to follow when George grabbed his arm.
"Don't." He said.
"What!? You're seriously not going to let him just take him, are you!?" He snapped, pulling his arm away.
George looked down. "I have an idea..but.."
Sapnap glared at him. "He could KILL him!"
He shook his head. "He would've instead of kidnapping him. He needs him for something."
Sapnap growled slightly. "I just don't want bad to get hurt.."
"Neither of us do, but this is our best chance of finding what he's planning or at least where he's headed."
Sapnap looked down. He knew he was right, but he didn't want to put the mission over the life of his friend. He sighed.
"What do you need me to do?"

(Should I Make this a separate book? I could keep it in the one shots, if you'd like, but I think it might be better as it's own story?)
