I could tell that it was Ashton talking, and Calum must be the tan guy he hung out with. But why did Ashton seem so upset. Things like this happen to me a lot. Which is why I know most of the nurses and doctors around. My thoughts were interrupted by calum continuing.

Mate, I dont see why its such a big deal. Hes just some depressed em...

But he was cut off by a loud smack. That my guess came from Ashton. I couldn't keep myself from flinching and trying to curl up, but the wires and such made it impossible. Instantly they were beside me as tears streamed down my face. I reached out blindly whimpering. All I wanted was my stuffed penguin so I could go back to sleep. But it was just out of reach, and instead my hand landed on Ashtons. His hand instantly grasped mine, and he used his other to gently push my hair out of my face. "Hey bud. Shh, you're ok. It wasn't  a deep cut, so they only used like 10 stitches, and you'll only be on crutches for a week The doctors said you can leave once you're ready ok. " he whispered.

                  I nodded before looking over to the corner noticing the red mark on Calums face. Ashton must've noticed my gaze as he said calmly "calum drove us here, and hes a nice guy he just has to get to know you." I looked back over at Calun again, and he gave me a small smile walking over to the bed and said shyly, "Im sorry for being such an arse, mate." I smiled back pushing my self off the bed. "I-its ok, Im kinda used to people constantly bullying me..." I trailed off not sure if I should continue, but I did. "That's the reason we moved here, because it was too much at my last school." I looked down at my hands before grabbing my penguin and burying my face in the plushy.

             "Luke you're signed out and we c..." My mom stopped short when she saw me. She rushed to my side gently pushing me back on the bed. "Baby what's wrong," she asked pulling my penguin away from my face. "Um, he was telling us about when he was bullied. And I was just about to tell him that we would never bully him, and if anyone does he can come to us." Ashton said proudly as I smiled as he walked over and pulled me into a tight hug. "Well Lukey you're all signed out. But if you'd like to ride with your friends I don't mind as long as you come straight home" mom said sweetly. I nodded looking at Ashton and then Calum.

"Well be super careful Mrs. Hemmings, but would you mind if we stopped for ice cream on the way. As a little get well gift from us?" Calum asked a bit hesitantly. My mom smiled and nodded as she gently ushered us out of the room. Ashton guided me as I hobbled to the exit. Calum and I waited as Ashton ran to get Calums car. "Look I really am sorry about being such a jerk. It's just Ashton's all I have and I don't want to lose him. But I can tell hes got a bit if a soft spot for you." He smiled and put his arm around my shoulders as Ashton pulled up.
