It was a  peaceful morning in Atlantis. Yet, it wasn't a good one. Rather, it was filled with a quiet and eerie atmosphere. It wasn't always like this, though.

Atlantis used to be the brightest kingdom in all of the oceans. With a mighty king, as well as a beloved and beautiful princess. But as tragedy struck, the once paradise became a graveyard for the human's missing bodies.

No creature ever came to visit Atlantis once the sirens had took over the kingdom. Not even the bravest sharks dared to set fins on the place. The only thing that was left, was the King's throne as well as the leftover ship wrecks that had sunk down from the surface.

A small number of sirens can be seen from the far distance. All looking like they were in a serious conversation. They were all seated by a ship wreck filled with algae around it, giving each other meaningful looks as a form of communication as they never really talked verbally underwater. Each of them was born with the power of telepathy, granting telepathic conversations between them all.

Their little meeting was soon interrupted as one siren came approaching. This was a different siren. Much more superior that the others. She was wearing a crown that glistened under the rays of the sun seeping through the waters. Unlike the other sirens, her tail was the color of her skin, with swipes of black on her behind as well as her fins.

From the outside looking in, it was obvious that the sirens didn't want the superior one to know about what they were talking about as their facial expressions were soon masked away by what seemed to be a fake sweet looking one.

The siren, who's named Zareena didn't even try to conceal her emotions when she stopped right in front of the group. She was holding a flower. A rose, which made the other sirens raise their brows suspiciously.

The day was bright and the sun was as shining. Where did she get the rose? They weren't allowed to go up to the surface until the moon was right on top of the sky. Where did she get the land flower?

"What are we talking about?" Zareena asks, using her mind to link with everyone else's to communicate with her troop.

"Did you guys get a good one last night?" She adds, tilting her head to the side as she unconsciously twirled the flower between her thumb and her index finger.

The sirens go hunting every night and usually, Zareena comes with them. She would take the lead and sing the siren song, summoning her aqua sisters to feast on the sailors. But these days, it was only the other sirens. Zareena would constantly be missing in action when night time comes.

"We had an amazing catch last night, Z. There were 7 of them in a paddle boat. We waited for you to devour the best of them all, but you were no where to be seen."  Another siren named Aquilina spoke in the queen's mind, her tone accusing.

Zareena, who was immune to that type of behavior only flashed the other siren a small smile, pulling the rose closer to her chest as she falls back, rolling her tail forwards, creating small bubbles around her.

"I was busy." She answers, giggling softly to herself.

The other sirens had been eyeing up the rather unusual flower in the superior siren's hand, sending it curious looks, obviously eager to know what it was. Zareena noticed their stares and let go of the rose, allowing it to float underwater. With the flick of her wrist, the rose came closer towards the other sirens, resulting in them getting startled and move away quickly like a bunch of fishes, running away from an enemy.

"It's a flower, it's not gonna hurt you." She says, beginning to swim away from the group.

"Where did you get it? It doesn't look like an aquatic flower." Aquilina asked, the accusing tone remaining in her voice as she swam closer to the delicate flower, observing it.

"It has thorns!" Kalissa, another siren whom had moved closer towards the flower exclaimed. Her eyes were now wide as a look of surprise overtook her features.

Zareena only hummed and tilted her head to the side, a half shrug on her shoulders before twirling around the deep cold water and swimming back to the group.

"Be careful, Aquilina. You know who you're talking to, right?" She asked the brown haired mermaid, suddenly appearing behind her as if she was testing her. When Aquilina said nothing, the other siren seemed to be satisfied.

"Exactly." Zareena hums again before moving away.

"Tonight. We meet when the moon rises on top of the water. Same place. Do not be late." She announces, keeping a straight face before quickly swimming away from the group, disappearing behind the deep and dark water of the ocean.

The rest of the sirens were now left all alone by the ship wreck, the rose now resting on top of the ocean floor unattended and eventually, abandoned as the rest of the sirens went their separate ways.

A/N: Hello! I hope you enjoyed the first chapter. It's not the best, I know. But it'll get better soon, I promise!

Also, a picture of Zareena is up above. I will be revealing the rest of the siren's face and tails soon :)
