Chapter Two - New Friends

Luhan's POV 

Oh my God! I’ve just confessed my love out loud in front of Sehun- my dream boyfriend- and Lay- my good friend who was just about to kiss me! It’s only been the first few days of school but, I have definitely just gotten off to a rough start. Things could not have gotten worse. Sehun looked awake as ever when I confessed. I didn’t mean to say anything, but I ended up just blurted everything out. All my love was bottled up for such a long time and I just couldn’t help it! I guess there’s no turning back now… He definitely won't be able to look at me in the same way as before. What if he never talks to me again?! After all, his best friend has just confessed his love to him…

Luckily my next block isn’t with Sehun or I would have been doomed! I look at my phone for the time and it shows 1:10pm. I’ll be late for class if I don’t hurry. I quickly gather my books and rush down the hallway while glancing at my phone when I bump into two tall, aggressive looking boys probably my age.

OMG!! Gaaah! What do I do? What was I thinking, rushing down the hall like that?!?!?! I look up and see I have bumped into Kris and Tao-the scary-looking yet funny duo!

Kris questions grumpily in a bored, flat voice, “ Hey Bambi, who are you? How old are you? You made me drop everything!”

Tao adds with a threatening smirk on his face, “ Me too. Don’t think you can bump into us and get away with it!”

I am so shocked, I find myself stuttering, “ I-I’m….Luhan, age 24. And I’m sorry I bumped into you. It was an accident.” Aish! I am soo stupid! If I tell them my real name maybe they will hunt me down one day and kill me!

Kris adds unamused while pulling my collar, “ You’re not 24. You clearly look like you’re not even 20. ”  

I mumble frantically, “ I’m serious!! Please don’t hit me!! I’m honest, really!!”

Meanwhile, Chanyeol and Baekhyun walk by.

Chanyeol nudges and leans into Baekhyun to whisper, “What’s happening? I hope Kris-hyung and Tao didn’t pick a fight again! Let’s go help that poor boy out, Baekhyun. He looks like he is going to cry because he’s so scared.”

Baekhyun obediently nods.

Chanyeol and Baekhyun calmly question Kris in unison, “ What’s going on now, Kris-hyung?”

 Kris ruffles his hair with his fingers, trying to look innocent.

(***note this was probably because Chanyeol is very much liked by the headmaster of the school and Baekhyun was the headmaster’s grandson. If he does anything bad in front of them he could be expelled within minutes… ***)

Kris replies with an attempt of a sweet voice saying, “ It’s totally fine. I was just joking, right Tao?”

Tao nods at Kris and replies with an attempt of an angelic smile, “ Yup. Just kidding!”

Kris continues with a forcefully kind voice, “ Let me introduce myself. I’m Kris and this is Tao. Nice to meet you Luhan, was it?”

I quickly say, “ Yes it’s Luhan.” I look over at my two rescuers, “Ummm, who are you two? Thanks for saving me from these two!”, I even gather up the courage and add, “They were quite scary!”

Baekhyun kindly replies, “What did Kris-hyung do to you? It’s ok, just tell us.”

I open my mouth with more confidence now, but shut my it the immediate moment I see Kris give me a truly frightening death glare.

Instead I mumble, “It’s was nothing. He didn’t do anything.”

Chanyeol gives an worried smile and states, “ Well, I’m Chanyeol and next to me is my dear Baekhyun. We’re all friends here, right?”

“Right?” Baekhyun chimes, mimicking Chanyeol’s voice perfectly, with an innocent and cute smile. He looks up at Chanyeol, who is looking back at him with slightly annoyed but at the same time gentle, loving expression.

Kris grumpily says with an evil snarl, “ Yeah yeah, whatever. Yeol, you better stay out of this. You too Bacon! Or else, next time it’s game over for both of you!”

“Or else, next time its game over for both of you~!”, Baek mimics with a mischievous smirk as the the two intimidating gangsters swagger off. Chanyeol breaks into a smile and ruffles the copying machine’s fluffy golden hair.

‘“Well we’ll see you around sometime later, Luhan!” Chanyeol says considerately, while grabbing one of Baekhyun’s hands as he walk off. Baekhyun wildly waves his free hand, good bye.

I am left alone again.
