Checking his phone, Sam got a message from Brady that they would be running late. He replied with it's okay, which it was! Together, Sam, Callum and Uma were really enjoying time just the three of them. Although Uma was closer to Callum, and Sam didn't know her too well, they got on greatly.

'I swear she was insane!' Uma told her. 'After seeing what she had sprawled out over her bed I knew I had to make a beeline exit.'

'That's horrifying!' Sam exclaimed, laughing slightly.

'I know right!' Uma said, pouring herself another glass of wine. 'I swear she's not even my craziest ex.'

Sam laughed, watching Callum move the glass slightly.

After another few minutes of having a good time, the doorbell went, and Sam got up to get it.

Ruby pushed past slightly, going to sit down next to Uma. 'You look nice!' Sam called out, but she ignored him.

'Never mind her.' Brady muttered, pulling him into a hug. He squeezed him tightly, hands brushing over his butt.

Ignoring this, Sam simply smiled, closing the door after him. Brady went and sat down at the table and the five of them had a good time. Uma drank quite a lot and became the life of the party whilst Ruby stayed on her phone. Sam noticed that this bugged Brady though.

'She can stay on it if she wants.' Sam whispered, shrugging. 'We don't care.'

Brady turned his head over and glared at him. 'Well I do.' He looked over at Ruby, and snatched her phone away, causing her to stop in shock before her face turned to anger.

'Brady, what the fuck are you doing?' She yelled. 'Give me back my phone!'

He smiled and shook his head. 'No, you need to socialise ,with us.'

Ruby frowned even harder. 'No. I came to this stupid gathering for you. Don't expect me to be any part of it.'

Brady glared before dropping the phone back on the table for her, whilst Sam looked over at Callum who mouthed, 'Okay?' Sam nodded, and content, Callum turned back to his conversation with Uma.

Picking up her phone, Ruby made herself scarce by moving to the opposite side of the room to everyone else.

Picking up a chip Callum had microwaved, Brady popped it into his mouth, turning to the smaller blonde. 'She always knows how to get on my nerves.' He told him. 'Been together for several months now, and she still doesn't even try to get to know my friends.' Brady looked between him and Callum, tensing up slightly. 'You got lucky with Callum.'

Sam smiled. 'I know. I love him.'

Brady stared blanklyoo at him before giving him a smile that didn't reach his eyes. 'Why didn't you tell me you liked guys dude?'

The question took Sam off-guard a bit, but he thought about it. 'I never actually came out to be honest.'

Brady raised his eyebrows. 'Oh.'

Sam nodded. 'I kind of just started dating Callum to be honest, no one actually bothered me about it.'

'That's good.' Brady smiled, reaching over and stroking Sam's hair.

Sam was taken aback at this, but he allowed him to. He glanced over at Ruby who shot daggers at him.

'We're going to be heading off in a few days.' Brady told him. 'We should go out together some time.'

'''I don't know... I'm not sure Ruby would want to come.'

Brady smiled. 'I meant just us.'

Sam nodded slowly. 'I- I'll have to check with Callum, we might be doing something-'

Brady gave him a dark stare before returning to his smile. 'There's the day after if you don't.' He joked.

Sam nodded, becoming a little uncertain whether he wanted to or not.

As it got late into the night, Callum and Sam had put Uma to be on the couch. Everyone becoming more drowsy.

'We're going to be heading off now.' Brady announced.

'Bye man.' Sam said, as Brady sloppily kissed his cheek, making Ruby scowl. Ruby didn't acknowledge any of them to say goodbye, much to Brady's discontent.

With Brady and Ruby gone, and Uma asleep, Callum turned to Sam. 'Want to head to bed?' He yawned.

Sam nodded, equally as tired, as they headed away.

He downed another shot of vodka. Brady was looking at himself in the mirror, Ruby getting changed behind him.

'Can you stop?' She groaned looking over at him.

He stared up at her, unresponsive.

Ruby shook her head. She didn't even know why she was still dating him. Brady was nowhere near the man he pretended to be. A few weeks ago she got off with Brady's older brother, and he'd offered to take her on a cruise he was going on. She'd stupidly declined to go back to Brady's hometown with him. 'Pathetic.' She murmured.

He shot up and stormed over to her, towering over her feeble frame. 'What did you just say?' He spat.

Ruby swallowed uncomfortably but stood her ground. 'Y-You heard me...'

'I know.' He whispered, and he struck her along the face.

She winced, stumbling back. 'How dare you!' She spat.

He hit her. Again. And again. Ruby struggled against him, but his fist continuously struck her. Her nose was bleeding and her face bruised. Eyes black and make-up running she was screaming out in pain. Brady grabbed her head forcefully, slamming it into the corner of the desk in the room. She screamed again in pain as he heard a loud cracking sound. Ruby slumped down unresponsive. Brady looked at what he'd done, and he looked down at his blood soaked fingers. He ran ideas of what he was going to do until he settled on one. He dashed out the doorway away from his dead girlfriend, to the one place he could go.
