A change, Gaara x Reader

Surprise!

My journey was over as soon as I reached the village's gates. I told the guards why I'm here and went to the Kazekage's office to inform him as well.

I reached his door and suddenly felt my heart beat faster than usual. I knocked on the door twice.
" Come in, it's open " I heard him saying.
I opened the door and let my self in,I saw Gaara sitting behind his desk looking out of the window, then he turned his gaze at me as soon as I spoke.

" Hello Kazekage, Gaara. It has been a while, damn look at you! You're the Kazekage already! Congrats! " I said smiling.
He turned to me in surprise, as he wasn't expecting it would be me, he thought it would be a dude with papers for him to fill, but it was me, he looked like he was happy to see me, after a long time who wouldn't be happy to see his friend.

He got up and walked over to me as he hugged me tight saying
" (f/n)! How have you been doing! Damn I've missed you! I've been thinking about you lately, how it has been a long time since we last saw each other."

" Same here! I wasn't doing so fine until I decided to move here, I hated the leaf village and thought maybe if I changed where I live would help me a bit.. If that's ok for me to stay here" I said blushing a bit.

" Don't be silly, (f/n), you're more than welcome here. I hope you're okay." He said back.

" Oh that's good to hear, thanks a lot. yes I'm fine but I just got sick doing nothing in the leaf " I said giving him a quick hug.

" Haha oh I see, no need to thank. You never fail to make my day, seeing you is more than enough to me, but hearing you're moving here is great news." he said smiling and looking at me straight in the eye.

It made me blush a bit. It went silent for a bit, he noticed that he was too close to me, so he backed a bit, to not make me feel awkward and uncomfortable (oh I wasn't ;) ).

" So do you have any idea where are you staying? " He asked.
" No not really, but I'll be out in a bit to know that. Do you know any place that is good enough for me?" I asked him.

" Yeah I do, I can lead you there if you want, but allow me to offer, since we're good friends, would you instead live with me and my siblings? It's better than to waste your money on that." He offered.

" Would that be.. ok?" I asked unsure.
" Yes of course! I'm sure Temari and Kankuro would love you. Why don't you hang out here a bit? Kankuro will be here soon, and he can escort you to our house." He replied.

" Thank you very much, Gaara. I-I mean Kazekage Gaara.. Sorry about that." I said.
" No it's okay, you can call me whatever you like" He said winking at me. (me: *melts*||||) xD.

" Please get comfortable and take a seat, Kankuro might take a while to come back." He offered. " Alright thank you " I said smiling at him. " I'll be right back, I'm gonna go buy us a drink." I said and went out.
