You voted for it, and here it is! This is an angst and fluff. No smut. There are underlines of a bit of ptsd and anxiety. There is slight talk of abuse. If something is bad, I will make sure to put warnings. Hope you enjoy it!!

"Move it, hybrid."

A hybrid boy at 18, named Changbin by his mother but hybrid by the soldiers, bit back a hiss as he was pulled harshly by the collar around his neck.

Though he was used to it as he's been here all his life. The collar stopped him from transforming into a cat.

He was moved to the showers. They had set times to shower so they can be watched at all times.

"You have 15 minutes." The one soldier said, taking off the collar as it can't get wet. "Don't try anything."

He's heard this for years as he nodded. Changbin hated shower time as he didn't like his body which was littered with scars from the camp. He was about to undress, but there was an alarm.

"Alert, alert. Number 2895 went rouge. Shoot on spotting."

Changbin looked at his guard, who was looking at the one corner of the fence around the area.

It was horrifying, a huge bear clawed the fence, getting it open. His guard aimed.

Changbin saw his chance, transforming into his black cat, and slipped into the back.

He glanced, noticing no one was paying attention to him, all eyes were on the group of rouge hybrids.

There was now a group of hybrids, some fighting the soldiers and the others trying to leave. He saw a small opening in the fence and he snuck under it, running as his life depended on it.

He was smiling, feeling so free. The air felt so nice. Once he didn't see the camp, he slowed down. Changbin sighed, sat down, and started cleaning himself.

It's a shame Changbin doesn't know who his mom was, or even if she was alive. He would've tried to help her get free.

The cat looked around, sniffing the area to see if he can smell food. He caught a scent of fish.

His mouth watered. He hasn't had fish in years. He noticed it was in the trash, but he couldn't be greedy.

Changbin took it in his mouth, running into an alley that had a box laying on its side.

It wasn't much, but it was better than the camp. With a sigh, he cuddles in the box, setting the fish down and taking his time to eat it. He purred as he tasted the well-made fish, satisfied with his catch.

Changbin has left the camp for three months and it was winter. The only good thing about camp was that they provided warmth. Changbin was cuddled in himself trying to keep his heat.

He heard running, shooting up his head. He saw a guy running towards him with a wallet in his hand.

"Hey! Stop!" He heard, seeing a guy with long blond hair and a beanie on. "Return my wallet!"

Changbin saw the thief pull out a gun and the younger put his hands up. Was the tall human going to get shot at for a stupid wallet? He didn't want that.

So without much thought, Changbin jumped into action. He jumped up, biting the thief's hand.

"Ah!" The thief yelled, dropping the wallet and gun, and throwing his arm, making Changbin lose his grip. With the momentum, he hit the wall, letting out a painful meow.

The blond got his wallet, stating he had a video of the guy and would put it to the police to find the wallet.

"Whatever." The thief left and Changbin sighed. The blond probably will leave him to die.

"Aw, thank you, you fearless guy. You ok?" The boy came over toward him.

Changbin looks up at the handsome human and tries to stand but he felt pain jolt up his front leg so he fell.

"Careful." The human put his hand out, which Changbin automatically started hissing at.

"I'm not here to hurt you, buddy. You helped me and I wanna return the favor. How would you like living with me?"

Changbin was unsure if he could trust humans but he knew he was cold and injured. He can take this boy's kindness and once it's warm outside, he'll leave.

So, with hesitation, he rubbed his cheek against the warm hand.

"Ok, can you get in your box? That way I can carry you without hurting you." The tall blond brought his box near him.

Changbin winced but brought himself to stand and walk into the box.

"I'm Hyunjin. I'm gonna take you to the vet... Changbin?"

Changbin was shocked. How did he know his name?

"Wait, were you owned before? I hope not."

Changbin completely forgot he had a name tag still on. His one collar was left behind at the camp, but this collar never came off.

"What are these numbers? 2976?"

Changbin hissed, not wanting to hear those numbers ever again.

"Okay, okay! Jeeze I'm sorry." Hyunjin giggled, bringing him into a building.

"Hello, how can I help you?"

"Hello. I'm Hwang Hyunjin. I saw this cat outside and I wanna take him in. But he seems hurt."

"I can certainly have the vet take a look."

Changbin was nervous to be here. Could he play off being just a pet?

"Hwang Hyunjin?"

Hyunjin followed the lady back to a room. She tried picking him up but he hissed at her.

"It took a bit for him to trust me. Hold on." Hyunjin gave him his hand, which Changbin slowly rubbed his face against.

"I'm taking you out, sorry bud. You need to be looked at."

Changbin felt like he was shaking. He didn't like doctors at all. But Hyunjin kept petting him which somehow helped him stay calm.

"Alright, I did the basic check-up. I'll have to take an x-ray to see if he has something wrong with his back or legs. Was he microchipped?"

"I... don't know."

Changbin knew he didn't have a chip. The chip was inside his collar back at camp so he thankfully never had any concerns about being brought back to that nightmare.

Hyunjin took him in the box back to another room, putting him carefully on the table.

Changbin lay there, waiting for whatever they were doing, thankful that Hyunjin came back.

"So, it just looks like he hurt a muscle. With time, that should heal. But I have something I want to tell you outside."
