At school things seemed relatively normal. Aside from the good morning texts I received from Ember. Around lunch time as I sat with Emma and her group of friends I couldn't help but take a peek at Ember who was currently laughing at something Seth had said. They where oddly close. Feeling a bit uneasy I send a message to Ember asking if she ever broke up with Seth. However when I saw her look at her phone and not answer me right away I begin to question there relationship more.

It wasn't until after lunch that I finally got a reply.

Ember
You don't have to
Worry. I'm not with Seth
Anymore. Where just really
Good friends.

I immediately relaxed after seeing her reply. Calm down Ash, there just friends.

I didn't like feeling this way. I never wanted to be that girl who was always jealous over something so petty. So I decided to let it go and move on.

After school I once again went home with Emma, she seemed to be having an issue with this girl named Kara in her P.E class.

"Look all I'm saying is that I feel like this girl has it out for me. Why? I don't know. I mean where pretty much equal in the sports we play..."

"Maybe she thinks of you as a rival?"

"Please. She's one of Embers friends how could she see me as a threat?"

"Wait. Kara is one of Embers friends?"

"Yes I told you that in the beginning where you even listening?"

I give Emma a sheepish look making her roll her eyes in annoyance. I was a bit surprised that Emma's P.E class had a few Juniors in it. After all Emma and I where just Sophomores. But having more then one grade in a P.E class wasn't really unheard of.

"One of these days I'll have to stop by your class and meet her. Ember hasn't really told me much about her friends. All I really know is that she used to date Seth."

"Maybe. Maybe you could stop by tomorrow? Or perhaps you could skip your boring English class and join me in Gym."

Emma said cheekily. That would be fun. But me? Skipping? I've never really done that.

As we got to her house I immediately went straight upstairs towards her room only to bump into Ember.

"Sorry!" I tell her in a panicked voice."

"Why so panicked? I mean you only bumped into me, it's no big deal."

"But, the last time I bumped into you, you got really mad." I tell her quietly

"Back then was different. Back then I was trying very hard to distance myself from you but no matter where I went you where always there. It was hard, trying to keep my feelings and everything in check."

"Sorry." I apologized again

She was about to say something until Emma grabbed my arm and pulled me away.

"This isn't Ember and Ash time. It's Ash and me time. So butt OUT!" I was surprised at how harsh Emma was being as she shoved me into her room while slamming the door in clear annoyance.

"Alright now that she's gone, let's bust out some Halo!"

I couldn't help but grin as she handed me the black Xbox remote while turning on the screen. I love being at Emma's house. It was the one place I could relax without having to worry about my father.

After a few rounds I told Emma I was going to the bathroom but in reality I was headed to Embers room.

Very nervously I knocked on her bedroom door.
