YOU'LL LOVE IT I SWEAR

Liv's P.O.V:

"Liv, honey, get up and start packing," Mom shakes me awake and smiles.

"Ten more minutes?" I sleepily mumble.

"Hun, it's ten o'clock. You've gotta start packing so we can drive your stuff over to the apartment,"

"Ugh," I roll over, thinking there is some bed next to me. Unfortunately, I was very wrong. "Shit," I mutter as I pick myself off the floor.

"I'll bring you up some coffee and some food, but get dressed and begin this fiasco." Mom instructs, pointing the the numerous amounts of boxes I have.

"Can I call Mary?" I yell from the closet.

"Sure, just make it quick!"  She replies.

After I told Mary about the move, she was extremely happy for me, but I could tell that she was upset that I was leaving so soon.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Mary. Wanna come over and help me pack?" I laugh.

"Sure. I'll bring the idiots, too. They're sometimes productive,"

"Thanks. You're a lifesaver."

"So I've heard. I'll be there in fifteen,"

"Okay, boo. See you soon."

I put some Nike sweatpants and a basketball t-shirt on, slip on my socks, and turn some music on.

To start off, I begin empty out my dresser, which consists mainly of sports clothes and shoes.

"Liv, we're out of coffee, so I brought hot chocolate and doughnuts," Mom sets the stuff on my vanity.

The front door opens, and I hear multiple footsteps coming up the stairs.

"Hey!" I smile and give Mary a big hug.

"Hi," She smiles cheerfully.

"Why are we here, again?" Alex interrupts.

"We're packing,"

"Oh,"

"We have doughnuts and hot chocolate, too," I mumble as we start the immense project.

********

"Oh, my gosh. I literally hate packing." Zach groans.

"If I never see another box that needs to be carried to a truck again, it'll be too soon," I roll my eyes.

"Liv, do you wanna go out for dinner?" Mom yells from downstairs, "It's just us tonight."

Where the hell is everyone?

"Um, yeah. That sounds good." I call back. "Where are we going?"

"I was thinking Chinese take-out. Is that okay with everyone?"

A chorus of 'yeah' and 'obviously' goes around, and she takes our order, and goes to pick it up.

"Thank y'all, so much. I can't believe I'm moving to California four days."

"No problem. This week, it's gonna be best friends' days. Just us," Mary smiles, making a wave of sadness come over me.

I want to go. I can't be upset.
