"Hey buddy"
I heard from behind me.
"Hey Cal!"
I said as I turned around to face him, then turned back to my locker.
"What's on the agenda for today?"
"Not really sure yet!"
"Maybe we can hang out after school?"
"Yeah! That would be cool!" I said while smiling.
"You don't know shit about being cool." I heard from Jake as he walked by us with his group of jocks.
"Go away. Nobody wants you here." Calum said to him.
"Hey" Jake said raising his arms in defense.
"I'm just being honest." He smirked and walked away with his snickering friends.
"Don't listen to them, I think you're pretty cool" Cal said while nudging my shoulder.
"Thanks Cal" I said back,looked down at my feet and shut my locker.
"I have to head to maths, see you in music though! bye!" and with that he walked away.
I walked down to my science class and sat down at a desk in the front of the class. I noticed a new guy sitting close by me. Might as well introduce myself.
"Hi" I turned to face him. He looked up from his notebook.
"My names Luke."
"Hey. I'm Mic-"
"EW. Michael! What are you doing?! Don't talk to him! He's a freak." Geordie walked into the class and interrupted him. She grabbed his stuff and moved it next to her desk in the back of the room. He looked at me with sorry eyes and went with her.
'I wonder how they are already friends. she's a part of the popular crew, and it's his first day. Whatever.' I thought to myself. 'I just don't unders-'
My thoughts were interrupted when Geordies, nicer friend, Aleisha walked in. She smiled at me and went over to her desk in the back.
'Wow. Was she gorgeous. I'm not good enough for her' I thought.
Just then the teacher walked in.
"Good Morning Class! We have a new student! His name is Michael."
I looked back at him, as he smiled at everyone, but avoided eye contact with me.

I wonder why.
